King Of Kings Child Care Center

I was married at King of Kings 24 years ago. We blended our families that day, five daughters. Two of those daughters were baptized at KOK and one was married there as well. I officially joined the church in November of 2023, right at the end of COVID. What made me take the plunge and convert to LCMS at KOK? Like a great deal of returning Christians, it was due to a personal trauma in my life, but really it was due to the Holy Spirit bringing me back to the church. Through Pastor Schmidt, I felt the calling to come back. KOK is a Gospel based church where we study the Bible and live by the words. The emphasis is on faith and belief. KOK has recently celebrated 50 years. Our church offers bible studies, Sunday school, kids' church, youth groups, day care, and many more opportunities to practice our faith. Our church maintains a large food bank for the community. There are opportunities at KOK to participate in church activities daily. So, if you are looking for a home to practice liturgy-based faith, give our church a try. KOK offers both traditional and contemporary services on Sundays.

Honestly sad I have to write this review but I feel like it’s needed. DO NOT become a member here unless you plan on coming to church EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. I was a member here for 27yrs…. I was here before the pastor ever was. & they KICKED ME OUT OF THE CHURCH. They claimed it’s bc I “missed to many services” but in reality I know it’s because I have multiple kids out of wedlock. So if you got that , also STAY CLEAR bc they absolutely WILL judge you. Matter of fact I have physical proof it was an “issue” for them in a message from the pastor himself. Which is insane to for a church to judge & kick someone out over when they allow people who are currently on drugs, have STALKING charges & some absolutely INSANE charges against them into the church. But hey you’re a dollar sign to them. That’s all they care about here. If you want your kids to be in a good children’s program (on Sundays) yeahhh um this ISNT THE PLACE. There is no Sunday school for kids, there’s almost no effort put into the children at this church. I grew up in this church, even had 5 kids baptized here. But I’m glad we’ve found a church that accepts ALLof us & has a very involved area for children! This church sank when pastor Doria left. & unfortunately I don’t think it will ever get back to being that way unless they bring younger people in for the kids & younger people who need to plan things & do things for the church. Sad to see this is what it came to, but so glad it opened my eyes to see how judgmental this church could be, There are some amazing members here, but that’s about it.

What can I say about this church? The upgraded Sanctuary is beautiful and accommodates my mobility scooter. My son recently attended the National Youth Gathering and had a blast. The Youth leaders have been wonderful and it is exciting to see the youth group growing.

A warm, welcoming church that worships God by strong teaching of the Word of God, Christian centered worship and loving fellowship. Also a Texas Rising Star superior rated daycare and child development center located on site.

My experience is with the early childhood development center. I have both friends and family who referred this place to me and was so grateful that there was an opening around the time I was returning to work. They have worked with me through It all :-) each member of the staff has shown me a high level of professionalism and genuine care. This is my first child so we have started him in the infant/"guppies" classroom and fully intend to keep him with their services as long as possible! I feel that he is safe, well looked after, and loved. The team cares about his milestones from a very young age and work with him. The team is available to answer any questions I may have, at any time, and they communicate exceptionally well. There are charts used to document when he gets fed, when he has his diaper changed, and any other special notices. They send pictures, and do little arts and crafts to include the parents. Overall I could not be more content with this faith-based organization!! With all my love.
