I absolutely recommend this childcare center. My son has a severe dairy allergy, and on his first day, there was a miscommunication that led to him being given yogurt. He had a serious reaction, and I was understandably concerned about childcare. The very next day, we met with the Director, Assistant Director, and Head of Nutrition. They all apologized, acknowledged the situation, and put new safety measures in place. It’s been 8 weeks since, and there hasn’t been a single problem. His caregivers do an excellent job of making him feel comfortable and safe. I can’t praise the staff enough—they truly care about the children. I couldn’t ask for more.
At first, this center seemed okay, but over time the experience became very disappointing. While there were a few good teachers, the lack of training and constant turnover made me feel my child was not safe or properly cared for. Most days my child was with staff unfamiliar with him, and instructions were often not followed. The new staff that started shortly before we left was especially concerning. Many of them would sit in the corner doing nothing or be on their phone while children cried. Another major problem was that I never knew what classroom my baby would be in. When I asked, I was told it depended on who showed up that day. That kind of uncertainty is not acceptable for parents who need to know where their child is and who is caring for them. In addition, the center lost my baby’s belongings, including diapers, wipes, rash cream, clothes, and more items. We eventually switched to the KinderCare at 101st and Memorial, and the difference has been incredible. The management is stronger, the teachers are consistent and engaged, communication is clear, and the curriculum is more structured. Most importantly, my son is happy, learning, and thriving. After a year of frustration at South Mingo, I’m relieved we made the move.
I took a tour here a couple of weeks ago and my gosh my momma gut was screaming at me the whole time! I got an awful feeling the moment I walked in the door but I continued with the tour. The lady that gave me the tour said that even if a child has a fever it’s ok they can stay because we understand you have to work! First Red flag! Second looking around the classrooms I barely seen any toys out for toddlers?! Another Red Flag Then the lady told me the kids rarely go outside to play?! Like what do they do all day? Last big red flag I was talking to the director about what day my son could start and she said oh we can push him on the first his teacher has 8 already but hopefully someone won’t show up 😬 Ya absolutely not! I would be extremely careful about putting your child in ANY Kindercare facility! I have done my research and it is not good! Hidden reviews on how the staff hit their dab pens in the classroom and much worse. I hope someone investigates Kindercare because something is way way wrong this corporation!
Switching from a small home daycare to a larger daycare, I was a bit skeptical and worried that my youngest wouldn't adjust well. We have been there a little under a month and I am very happy with the progress she has made, especially during drop off. During my tour with the Director, Ashley, she was very thorough in explaining how the daycare operates and assured me that my awful experiences from other large daycares were not normal and will not happen at KinderCare South Mingo. While touring, I was also able to look in on a few classes, including the class where my little will be housed and meet her teacher. I absolutely loved everything about her and her classroom (cleanliness, curriculum, age appropriate decorations and activities). I 100% recommend this child care facility to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and caring environment for your kiddo(s). The afterschool care is also amazing, my oldest enjoys it! Ashley (Center Director) and Anthony (Asst Director) are really the "A" team and the teachers are nothing short of amazing as well!
