Kindercare Learning Center

I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Debbie, Marisa, and Rebecca for their patience and kindness, as this is my son's first daycare experience. I trusted them, and the outcome has been superb. My son eagerly looks forward to attending every day and has learned a great deal, often singing at home what he has learned, which brings a smile to my face. I wanted to show my appreciation and felt compelled to leave a review.

I was nervous starting my babygirl at day care she was just 6 weeks old! Ms.Debbie assured she’ll be ok from when I came to visit and so far so good! Ms, Dawn, Shi,Toni, Jada are GREAT with my daughter ! I’m really pleased with how things are going at this time.

I would not recommend Brookhaven KinderCare in Gurnee, IL. We ultimately withdrew our child due to repeated concerns around care, communication, and leadership. Despite clear conversations and expectations, decisions about my child’s care were made without parental consent or advance communication. More concerning, the center repeatedly appeared to be out of compliance with Illinois state child-to-teacher ratio requirements. On several occasions, I picked up my child soiled, which is unacceptable in any licensed childcare setting and suggests a lack of adequate staffing and supervision. When these concerns were raised, the response from center leadership was dismissive and unprofessional rather than solution-oriented. There was little accountability, collaboration, or willingness to address issues proactively. Childcare requires trust, transparency, and partnership with parents. Unfortunately, this location consistently fell short in all three areas.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about KinderCare Brookhaven —especially Pre-K teachers Ms. Jen and Ms. Toni, and the amazing assistant director Ms. Asia. From the moment my 5-year-old daughter joined their classroom, I knew she was in the most loving, supportive hands. Ms. Jen and Ms. Toni go above and beyond in nurturing not only my daughter’s education but also her emotional well-being. They’ve helped her learn how to express and regulate her emotions in such a thoughtful, age-appropriate way—and the difference we’ve seen at home has been incredible. She’s more confident, more in tune with her feelings, and so much happier. Every single day, she comes home so excited to share everything she’s learned—it’s truly the highlight of her day and mine. She adores her teachers, and it’s clear that they’ve created a space where she feels seen, valued, and inspired to learn. Ms. Asia is a constant presence of calm and positivity. She’s approachable, always available to talk, listens with compassion, and truly makes you feel like you're in a partnership. The level of care and communication she provides makes such a difference, and I’m forever grateful for how invested she is in every child and every family. As a parent, there’s nothing more comforting than knowing your child is safe, understood, and thriving—and that’s exactly what KinderCare has given us. I’m beyond thankful for this incredible team. I feel completely at ease leaving my daughter in their care, and that peace of mind is truly PRICELESS!!

Brookhaven Kindercare has been great to work with. ALL of the staff is helpful and very caring of the kids. They truly want whats best for them and it shows. Ms. Jen and Ms. Toni, the Pre-K teachers are excellent. They go above and beyond every day. My little one absolutely loves them! Ms. Debbie and Ms. Asia deserve a shoutout too! They keep things running smoothly and are great to work with when issues arise. I highly recommend this center. I would be lost without them!
