What Parents Say
Childtime Branchburg receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from most parents, who praise the warm, nurturing environment, knowledgeable staff, and supportive leadership. However, one parent reported significant concerns about excessive outdoor time, lack of structured indoor activities, poor material safety practices, and negative behavioral changes in their child during a two-week enrollment.
We are so grateful for the care and support Childtime provided to our daughter, Acadia. It truly felt like her second home. A special shout-out to Ms. Erica Cruz, the director, for her understanding, flexibility, and leadership, and to Ms. Caitlyn Volker for reaching out with such kindness during a difficult time. Due to our child’s current school schedule, we had to withdraw for now, but this is not goodbye—we look forward to returning in the summertime. We highly recommend Childtime to any family seeking a warm and caring environment.
Childtime provides outstanding care and education. The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and attentive to each child’s needs. The management team is flexible, approachable, and always willing to collaborate with families. The environment is safe, nurturing, and full of positive energy. I highly recommend Childtime to any parent seeking a dependable and supportive daycare center.

We enrolled our 15-month-old at this daycare two weeks ago and unfortunately had a very negative experience. Our child showed signs of emotional distress that were never present at his previous daycare—he cried immediately upon seeing us at pickup, was inconsolable for hours after coming home, stopped engaging in play, and struggled to sleep at night. During our time there, the center spent the majority of the day outdoors with children from multiple classes, often coming inside only for naps. One particularly concerning morning around 8:30am had temperatures in the mid-60s, and our child was outside without a coat. When we asked about the excessive outdoor time, we were told it was to “tire them out so they nap.” Unlike his previous daycare, which offered enriching activities like circle time, art, and sensory play, this center lacked structured engagement. While 30 minutes outside twice a day is reasonable, this center far exceeded that. To make matters worse, parents do not have camera access to the playground—something other centers offer. We raised concerns with the administration that all this outdoor time might be contributing to our child’s exhaustion and distress, but nothing changed. After two weeks of minimal indoor enrichment, they finally did a foot painting activity—but our child came home with his feet stained red from paint that didn’t come off even after a bath. The residue lasted for days despite multiple baths. His previous daycare did finger painting regularly and he never came home with paint on his skin. This raised serious concerns about the safety of the materials used and the thoroughness of cleanup and hygiene practices. One day, we received a puzzling phone call from the director saying our son didn’t have a fever but was “elevated.” Moments later, the teacher messaged us asking to “talk about his coping with peers.” During that conversation, they described tantrums and floor-throwing behavior we’ve never seen at home or in previous care settings. Their explanation was that he was frustrated due to limited verbal skills, but we believe these behaviors—and the “elevated” temperature—stemmed from a lack of attention and stimulation, prolonged outdoor exposure, and exhaustion. It’s also normal for children to feel warm when upset. Our son lost his spark here. He’s normally a happy, easygoing child, but during his time at this center, he was the crankiest we’ve ever seen him. Once we connected the dots, we withdrew him immediately. The change was instant—he returned to his cheerful, playful self within days. Childtime’s tuition is among the lowest in the area, especially since they provide meals, diapers, and wipes. But unless you’re looking for the most basic, bare-minimum form of childcare, I would strongly caution parents of little ones to stay away and look for a place with more structure/curriculum.
We transferred to this daycare when my daughter was around 8 months after having a poor experience elsewhere. They have been very accommodating and my now 20 month toddler loves daycare! Highly recommend all of the staff there!
