Fernwood Cove is a magical and special place. My older daughter was a camper there for four summers. Her first year at camp she didn't know anyone else, but the camp was so welcoming and warm that she made many new friends and had an amazing time. She got to do things that took her our of her comfort zone and would not have had the opportunity to do had she not been a Fernwood Cove camper. I am forever grateful we found Fernwood Cove and for the lifelong memories my daughter made there :)
I went to Fernwood Cove for the last possible year as a camper. I loved it so much that I decided to go back as a Counselor In Training! I was extremely nervous before I actually went to the Cove, but once I got there, I had the time of my life! Three and a half weeks seems like a really long time, but once you get there, time flies! Also, my sister has been working there for seven years and keeps returning. I agree with one of the previous reviews, as the directors do run a very tight ship. I think the staff also has a great time as well as the campers, along with making so many connections that could be useful in the future! The staff comes from all over the world, as learning about all of those different cultures just adds to the experience. Fernwood Cove is an amazing camp and I highly recommend sending your daughter there. It won't be long and I'll be back next summerrrrrr! (It's a camp thing)
As a contractor who has worked at many of the local summer camps I can say that Fernwood Cove does more to provide a wholesome, positive experience that is truly beneficial for their campers than any other camp I have witnessed. The owners are passionate about about operating a first class camp and they submerse themselves and embrace the local community. You couldn't make a better choice for your child's summer experience!
Our daughter who is 11 is now in her 4th year at camp -- she absolutely loves it and looks forward to going back to Maine all year. The counselors, management, and other girls are very encouraging & friendly, plus the facilities are top-notch. Getting her out of the City and into nature with supportive girls from around the world is an experience that will pay life-long dividends. Thank you, Fernwood Cove.
