We had an absolutely horrible experience at Kidzalat. We removed our toddler within 1 week because of the poor attitude, lack of care for our child, and disrespect. We had many red flags, but what was the final straw was when I approached the Director to ask a question about my son, and she stated, "I would like to CAUTION you about asking questions everyday about your son. Miss Bella feels uncomfortable when you ask questions. She is young." Excuse me? My child had only been in the school for 1 week. I have all the right to ask about whether he was eating their lunch or not, especially because he was returning home hungry and the packed lunch I sent him in with was being returned back home. I was told he was given a bowl of peaches for lunch or would be given a spoonful to try. First of all, that in itself is unacceptable. Secondly, I had a concern about the educational component. He was homeschooled for the first 3 years. When asked about the curriculum, I was told the 3 year olds were learning their ABC's. He was way beyond that and when I picked him up from school, the "class work", if you want to call it that, was clearly done by the teacher because it was way too perfect. I asked my son if he did the work and he said, "No, the teacher did." When I gave my notice in, I got increasingly concerned because he stated to me that the teacher was mean to him and yelled to tell him to clean up so they could go outside. He expressed that he was scared to go to school and cried to go back. I removed him immediately and I would like to add that his new preschool is AMAZING. The new school shows care for the children and he has no issues at all there, is very happy to go there daily, and I he has no more crying spells. The Director at Kidzalat has a poor attitude, lacks social interaction with the parents and children, and is super cold and insensitive. She not only cautioned me about asking about my child, but when I questioned their curriculum, she told me my son lacked social skills because he cried when I left him in the morning. She said, "Part of education is social interaction and he has some separation anxiety." Well ma'am, when your child goes to a new school and had only been there for 1 week, I would think it was normal for him to cry. He didn't lack social skills, he was being a normal 3 year old who was in a new environment. I would like to note that we moved him to another preschool and he NEVER cries when I leave. That goes to show that the STAFF needs social training skills, not only on how to deal with children, but parents as well. Do yourselves a favor and choose another school. Your child would be happier elsewhere. I wouldn't send any of my children here, even if it was free tuition.
My boys have been at Kidzalat off and on since 2009. I just can not say enough good things about the amazing care my boys received at Kidzalat. The most important criteria for me is that I am not worried about my boys and their care while I am at work. And I never worried when they were at Kidzalat. If you have to use a daycare make it the best:) and Kidzalat is that place for me. Love love love them!!!!!! Worth every single penny!!
Literally the best daycare I could imagine. All of the staff are always very nice and really friendly. When my daughter misses days, they even call to make sure she is ok. She loves the staff, she loves the school, and so do I.
