Great place with very friendly atmosphere. Fun challenging games. Very organized. Something for everyone!
I had heard from my elderly neighbors that this location rents out their kitchen to small businesses, and I was excited to learn more, especially since there aren’t many commercial kitchen rental options available in Rapid City. I knew it might be a simple setup, given that it’s part of an activity center, but I was still hopeful. I initially called a week in advance to ask about pricing and possibly tour the kitchen, but was told the person in charge of rentals was unavailable that week. Thankfully, Michael returned my call shortly after. I explained what I was looking for, and while he wasn’t certain of the exact pricing, he mentioned it was reasonably priced compared to other local options. That gave me hope, as I assumed it might be around $13 to $14 an hour, which is in line with similar rentals nearby. Unfortunately, when I finally spoke with Irene to discuss availability and hours, I learned the cost was $159 for a 6-hour block, which breaks down to about $26.50 per hour. I was honestly shocked. For just four 6-hour days per month, that’s over $630 in rental fees. Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful, and I truly appreciate the communication. But from a small business perspective, the pricing just isn’t sustainable or competitive with other rental kitchens in the area. I was disappointed, as I had really hoped this would be a good fit.
Checked this place out for some people I support at my job. I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of things to do, the upkeep of the grounds and buildings, and the friendliness of everyone there. The membership fees I think are quite adequate for the number of activities you can participate in. The really cool thing is that they have redone the image of a traditional Senior Citizens Center by renaming the center and opening to a span of ages, pulling from the stereotypical senior center
Be very weary of very angry elderly people. They do not like people under the age of 40 & will harass you continuously. I’d recommend finding another membership & not waste money like We did.
I don't really go inside but I didn't know there was more park to enjoy back here and nice community gardens. A creek flows through this area. Really nice, less known park area.
