We picked up this place because we thought since it's more like a home care, they may be flexible to work with our 2 year old because he is new to the day care environment. Our son has a speech delay (for which he is getting therapy) and because he is not able to communicate properly, he acts out and hits other kids/teachers. After being there for 4 months, Ms. Carina (owner) suggested that our son may be suffering from Autism because he is pushing and hitting other kids. I was shocked to hear Ms Carina's assessment of our son done without our consent. She even sent us an autism therapy center recommendation. This is completely out of line and unacceptable. As a mother, I would let my son's doctor evaluate him, which he did. His pediatrician assessment was that our son does not have autism and he only needs to learn discipline. His speech therapist agrees that it's likely that because his speech is delayed, he communicates non-verbally and that it is a normal behavior for speech delayed kids. In addition, when I picked up my child, I noticed that he had a injury under his left eye and upon asking the teachers if any first aid had been administered to him, they said no. They even forgot to tell me on the phone that my son has been injured. They don't make any incident report if your child gets hurt on their watch. This is highly unprofessional and potentially putting the child at risk. I am attaching a picture here for your reference of my sons injury that it wasn't a minor scratch. It was an injury under the eye with some blood on it. First aid should have been given, no matter how he got injured. I am so glad our son is not under their care anymore as we can't trust this facility anymore. Will never recommend to any of my friends ever. UPDATE: This is in response to Ms Carina's comment to my review. She says that I confessed that I am scared to have my 3 year old around my infant. Any parent who has had more than 1 kid understands the fact that the elder kid gets a little jealous when a new baby joins a family. This is perfectly normal and you would expect that a day care owner would understand this and not point it out as abnormality. We do understand that our kid is going through an acting out phase but my point remains the same, it does not give a right to a day care owner to suggest we should take our son to Autism therapy and share the autism therapy details with us. Autism is real and there are many families bravely dealing with it. I do not appreciate it being thrown around carelessly like this.
