What Parents Say
Unable to provide accurate summary. The reviews appear to be for a community center/gym facility, not a daycare center. Reviews mention exercise facilities, weight rooms, basketball courts, and senior programs rather than childcare services.
I walked in looking for access to the gym trying to pay the day rate as I always have the last few years with my brother. They said that they no longer have day rates so I offered to pay the month rate. They said they do not have a monthly rate and they offer a 10 time punch pass for $75. I can not believe they were able to say that with a straight place. Not even a real gym a rec center. Real sense of “community”. Nice job Sidney.
To begin with, it's not very well run. As you enter the main entrance, most times there is no one at the front desk. I have had to find out on my own, how things work, like not having to check out when you leave, after using the gym facilities. Upstairs where the machines are, there are numerous machines, kind of jammed together, none of them have any outline showing on how to use them. Nor any postings on that either. There are spray bottles throughout the area, containing a disinfectant, to use to clean the part (s) of any machine that you have used. I'm not sure that everyone uses that. I have talked with one the assistants about the treadmills and the meanings of the numbers correlation of how to understand there meaning. That person could not tell me. There is a Siri us music system that anyone can make the music what they like to hear, which is why I bring my own. The men`'s dressing room with lockers, are pretty small, with barely enough romm to put a pair of jeans and your shoes. I have not ever taken a shower there, so I can't comment on that. I hope my pictures will show how the exercise area and walking/running track are set up.
There's enough to get in a rudimentary cardio session or even more lacking free weights routine. The check-in system is an antiquated card reader, and you have to trade your car keys for access to the lockers, rather than a "bring-your-own-lock" which requires you to wait for the staff, who is rarely behind the desk, to give you a key. All in all, not much is to be expected from a small town Community Center, but when you're paying more than twice the amount that large gyms charge and they can't provide you with nearly any of the same amenities, it's frustrating. I'd recommend this community Center ONLY if you're too far from any other ones. But it will always be my last choice.
They have exercise facilities and also provide quality meals for seniors at a very reasonable price. They also are the Meals on Wheels hub for Sidney Ne. I love this place.
Very friendly and courteous.
