What Parents Say
Kids Korner Daycare and Preschool Center in Cape Girardeau has received mostly negative reviews focused on management and staff conduct issues. While one parent praised the curriculum and facility, nine parents reported concerns about director competence, lack of patience with age-appropriate toddler behaviors, poor communication, and instances of children being dismissed or developing anxiety. The facility is closing in January 2025.
The Daycare itself was great, I feel my child has learned a lot. The directors are another story. They were great when they first took the spots, but in recent months they've completely changed to be quite judgmental and straight up jerks. They make big decisions off of their emotions rather than using their heads. I hope they remember, they work for a Christian daycare and their time of judgment will come. I would say its sad that theyre closing in January, but it might be a blessing in disguise if they aren't going to be in charge of something as important as child care anymore.
The directors have no idea what they are doing. The place is tailored to a specific type of child if you do not fit the mold they are extremely passive aggressive. They get frustrated super easy. The curriculum director is under the impression she runs the facility. I could go on but overall my child was not happy there.
Please do not send your children here. My child still talks about this center and refers to it as a mean place. Check the states website and do your research. On the face it looks like the best place, Christian values, polished facility but it’s about how they treat the children. The new directors are absolutely not competent to be in their roles. It’s also $220 a week which is outrageous.
I am deeply disappointed with our experience at Kids Korner. We have been at this facility for over a year now and my son loved it. However, after only two weeks of minor “incidents” my child was dismissed due to minor, age-appropriate behaviors. These behaviors included snatching toys, waking up early from nap time, and screaming. All normal test the limit behaviors with a two year old. He was never given a suspension and despite having cameras, they were unwilling to show me the camera footage of these “incidents”. Rather than offering guidance and support, the teacher and center director seemed unwilling to work with my child, giving up on him instead of providing the patience and teaching that young children need to grow and learn. This was especially disheartening coming from a facility that promotes Christian principles of compassion, understanding, and support. As a parent, I expected a nurturing environment where my child would be encouraged and guided through challenges, not simply removed when things became inconvenient. At $220 per week you would think that they could manage the typical terrible twos stage. Save your money. I would not recommend this facility to other parents seeking a supportive and patient environment for their children.
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my recent experience with Kids Korner center. Unfortunately, I found the facility to be ill-equipped to appropriately support and manage toddlers. Throughout the day, I received frequent and excessive notifications via the Brightwheel app, many of which came across as critical rather than constructive. This constant communication seemed more focused on complaint than collaboration, which created unnecessary stress and concern. It is important to note that my child has attended daycare since he was 3 months old and has not previously exhibited any maladaptive behavior. The challenges we experienced at kids korner center appear to be isolated to this environment, which raises concerns about the approach and training of staff in working with young children. Additionally, I found the professionalism of the center directors to be lacking. Their tone and conduct, both in communication and interaction, did not reflect the level of professionalism and care I expect from a childcare provider. For these reasons, I would not recommend this center to other parents, and I strongly encourage the administration to reevaluate staff training, communication protocols, and overall approach to toddler care. -PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!
