Kids Kastle Preschool

Our boys attended Kids Kastle for approximately six months. We moved somewhere closer to home as the drive to Irvine was becoming difficult for us. Initially, it felt like an “old school” daycare environment with a large outdoor space that would be perfect for them to run around. Inside, the classrooms were outdated but seemed clean enough. The teachers we interacted with were kind, and many had been there for a long time—a great sign. In fact, I even wrote a positive review when we started, highlighting these points. However, within a month or two we started receiving daily feedback about our boys having behavioral issues—one in particular. We had been to daycare before, so we weren’t new to feedback, but this was different. It felt like constant complaining. We monitored the situation with occasional check-ins, but it quickly escalated. Only a few months in, Katie, the director, and Miss Leann (not his primary teacher) sat us down and implied he had ADHD, even recommending we find him a new school. After nearly a year of reflecting on this bizarre situation, I still believe it was unprofessional. We had him tested through the district, and they concluded he did not have the learning disabilities they suggested. After reading through similar experiences online—like a review from a parent named Chloe P with a nearly identical situation with her daughter—it seems this isn’t an isolated incident. I think several factors play into this. It’s not a formal academic school, and there is a lot of free play time—which, for a 3-year-old (yes, my son was only 3), may not be the right environment for many kids. If your child is a calm, independent student, this could be a great place with fun activities, crafts, and affordable care. However, if your child needs more structure, this may not be the right fit
