What Parents Say
This listing appears to be for Grand Targhee Ski Resort, not a daycare center. The reviews are about the ski resort's facilities, terrain, dining, and lodging rather than childcare services.
I love the ski resort- this is not a review of that. This is about the overnight slope side lodging. I want so badly to love the lodging, but we’ve just had two years in a row with too many glitches to enumerate. First off, getting a confirmation of your reservation from the resort is weirdly difficult. My husband booked last year and I this year and we both had to request numerous times to get an emailed receipt. And yes, we checked the spam folder. This time it mattered bc we ended up in a different type of room than I thought I’d booked but with no email confirmation to go on, we had to go by what they told us. Also, this visit they had run out of pack n plays and they were running out of key cards, so no pack n play for us, and just one key card. We had a member of our group who couldn’t climb the 4 flights of stairs to the room, and despite checking in right on time, they said they weren’t able to switch us to a lower room, so our family member had to make alternative accommodations elsewhere (and they offered no help in that). Finally, the rooms are so dated and the loft rooms, despite having the semblance of a mini kitchen, have no cutlery, napkins, or dishes that you’d obviously want if you were going to eat any food stored in said fridge or heated in said microwave. This isn’t all of what’s wrong, but of course this review can’t go on forever. I hope they improve their management and their experience for guests who travel from very far to be able to enjoy this otherwise magical destination.
Every staff member was great. Hayden help us with our long trailer and was amazingly helpful. The food in the fine dining restaurant was some of the best we ever had. If someone did not have the answer to a question we had, they would find someone with it. Great job to this team from when we pulled into the lot to when we left. Thank you.
We had an excellent ski trip to Targhee with our family! We ended up renting skis for the kids, and the staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient in getting them set up quickly. That made a huge difference and got us out on the slopes faster. We spent most of our day on the bunny hill, which was perfect for the kids to learn and build confidence. One helpful tip: if you’re renting skis for beginners, bring a bungee strap to tie the front of the skis together—it really helps first-time skiers. They were also very accommodating for our work trip. Our room was incredible, especially with the downstairs bunk beds. The kids thought that was amazing! We had a blast and will definitely be back.
Absolutely an amazing place to ski. Long wide blue cruisers. First time here and it will not be the last. Amazing runs. Had lunch at The Trap bar and service and food were also great. We did not stay in the rooms which is why they were not rated. If you go to Jackson Hole to ski, take a day and come here. You will not regret it.
Ski or boarding the Gee is a worthwhile trip. The resort offers versatile terrain from a true beginner to an expert/advanced experience. Mountain hosts do an excellent job of preparing guests if you have questions or concerns. The food and drinks on the hill are reasonably priced, but the Trap Bar service is underwhelming. If you're expecting to eat be prepared for very slow kitchen times. If you're inching for a quick bit the Colter Bay Cafe is the place to stop. While current facilities are great the mountain guests would benifit from a mid-mountain yurt/hut for snacks and hot/cold drinks.
