Kids And Company

When we first enrolled our son at Kids and Co the staff and the director Vanessa were amazing but things got very bad when the owners decided to merge the Harrison location and another location. The original staff took time to do activities with kids and teach them manners and work on developing their milestones. After the merger the new staff were extremely neglectful and lazy at their jobs. Things got so bad the original staff who had worked there for years were all gone within two months. I feel bad for Vanessa the wonderful environment she had worked to create was destroyed by the greed of the owners and the children suffered for it. After the old staff had all left we noticed a dramatic change in our son. He was once talkative and engaging but with the new staff after coming home he would be very quiet and still for an hour before he began interacting with us. We started paying more attention to the cameras and we saw the staff were locking up all the kids in seats with seat belts over an hour before closing time!!! The kids were all in tears during pick up. We brought this up and they made excuses like "the kids want to run around while I'm cleaning". Of course the kids run around they need exercise! So we immediately removed our son. One of the other parents who took longer to leave the school said her son started coming home saying swear words before she finally left. Our son has been in a new preschool for a few months now and is happy and thriving.

If you have your child here please make sure you watch those cameras in the 1-2 year old class. I noticed my child would cry every time they entered that class. I observed them aggressively slaming kids in chairs, pushing them up too far at the table. New kids are forced to lay down and cry themselves to sleep during nap time. My child loved the teachers in the 3 year old class but would be afraid when entering the 1-2 year old class. Please pay attention to your child especially those cameras. They are trying to make sure they can see you when your logged in to look at your child. I understand that you can't hop around like Ms. Rachel all day but you shouldn't physically discipline these babies. Ariel

I was initially impressed by the nurturing environment and leadership at Kid’s & Co when my child joined in 2022. Unfortunately, since the leadership transition, the quality of care and professionalism has drastically declined. Interactions with the new director have been dismissive and unhelpful. Even after providing advance notice of withdrawing my child, I faced billing issues and no acknowledgment of my child leaving after two years. Staff morale also seems to have suffered under the current leadership, with multiple employees describing a toxic and hostile work environment. This negativity has impacted the overall atmosphere, and I no longer felt comfortable leaving my child in their care. Despite raising my concerns with corporate, I received no response, which only adds to the disappointment. I cannot recommend this center in its current state.
