What Parents Say
Kiddie Academy of Farmingdale receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from most parents, who praise the caring staff, educational curriculum, cleanliness, and communication. However, one recent review alleges serious concerns about child neglect, rough handling, and lack of supervision. The facility is NAYEC accredited and offers structured learning activities for infants through pre-K.
I would give negative stars if possible. Listen to me and the MANY other low star reviews, do NOT send your child here!! They are neglectful, careless people. Your child will sit in a soiled diaper for hours to point where they get rashes. Your child will either get yelled at for crying, or they’ll get ignored and will be crying alone on the floor for hours, there’s no in between. The staff is extremely rough with the children. They constantly grab them, pull them aggressively, and slam them. When the staff is not busy mistreating the children, they’re just sitting on their phones. MANY kids are constantly getting bit, pushed, hit, slapped and having toys and other items thrown at them by other kids because no one is watching them. The staff does not care for your kids! These babies and kids are getting BULLIED and neglected by adults! The kids are not allowed to make mistakes or have any ACCIDENTS without being yelled at in their faces! Especially if you have a child that tends to act out sometimes, they will be treated EVEN WORSE, rather than given more specific attention and care. The “higher ups” do not care, they are fully aware of the staff they hire and continue to employ. They know exactly what’s going on in every single classroom from infants to pre school, and they make no changes. As long as they have your money, they do NOT care about the treatment of the children whatsoever! It’s a TOXIC environment that you and your family should stay VERY far far far far away from!!!!
My two kiddos have been at kiddie academy farmingdale since they were 15 months (4 yr year old now) and 5 months (2 years now)! Our family has had a wonderful experience with this day care and encourage others to trust them with their babies. The owner, Patty, and director, Catherine, have been involved and communicative throughout our tenure as well as the other teachers and staff. Everyone adored our kids and made us feel that they were loved and cared for every day. Thank you kiddie academy for the past few years of stress free child care!!
They are RUDE especially management and they are not patient with children that don’t just jump into their routine. My son had NEVER been in childcare and all they did was complain about him not adjusting immediately. He did not really care to eat solids so they would let him starve the ENTIRE day. I would pick him up and there would be dried tears on his face. They also claim to have lost my son’s cubby items which were brand new name brand clothes but offered me his diaper cream. I was told “things get lost in child care all the time”. I don’t even think there was an effort in locating my son’s items as they did not care for him very much. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone not even for their dog. If I could give them NO STARS I most definitely would!!!!
I originally reviewed them on yelp 10yrs ago, unfortunately they spoke and had it removed for their benefit because they would not appreciate us speaking the truth about their facility.Well its on Google now. You would think since it's a corporate daycare and not some home, they would cater to your child better with academics and protection. Unfortunately that is not the case here. After experiencing many issues as in 3 strikes your out I HAD TO PULL MY CHILD OUT OF THIS PLACE. Witnessing the staff talk on their cell phones after scolding a child for mis treating another one is not professional. Bringing my child in as they were serving the other children breakfast, and witnessing that they are feeding my 20month old child some rock hard bagel is not ok in my book. Then being a victim of some massive bite attack that came from the other child is definitely something no parent wants to experience. Then when you question the staff they say the kids are to fast. Maybe your to slow and to old to be doing this job. we as parents look for a comfortable environment for our children to thrive and bond with other children, but when a staff becomes incapable of doing these objectives, then it is time to go. No matter if you're paying 320 a week or 200 a week money doesn't mean nothing. When deciding on a location do your homework. After everything they have still yet say anything. The head director didn't even respond to my emails of complaints. Your child is a dollar sign to everyone. Do what you feel is in the best interest for your child.
Kiddie Academy of Farmingdale holds a special place in my heart! As a first time parent, I was very anxious about returning to work and putting my 4 month old into day care so young. The staff quickly took those concerns away. Not only did I feel a great sense of peace knowing my child was safe and being looked after, but I also felt encouraged by the fact the staff carefully builds out a curriculum and activities to keep the little ones engaged and learning. I didn't realize that existed for infants. I highly recommend! The girls are so loving, the facility is very clean, security is wonderful, emergency protocols are practiced with ALL the children. They're amazing!
