What Parents Say
Kensington School of South Naperville receives overwhelmingly positive reviews from most parents, who praise the warm, family-like environment and quality care from infancy through PreK. However, two negative reviews describe cold staff interactions, inattentive care, lack of flexibility, and frustration with waitlist management practices.
My son started in the infant classroom at 9 weeks old. He is thriving and loves his teachers and friends SO much. They are our second family and truly our home away from home. I am so grateful for my time at Kensington as a preschool teacher, director and now a parent being able to experience all aspects of the school. This is a special place and I know a truly great program that goes above and beyond.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this special place. The teachers at Kensington have helped raise & educate my daughters since they were 9 months old. They are like family. I always felt such peace knowing my kids were loved, cared for, and safe at Kensington while I worked helping other children as a teacher. They have always shown such special individual attention to each of my girls, especially my oldest with food allergies. They always made sure they kept me informed and were so cautious and prepared. My oldest still asks to go back daily. She says she misses her teachers, friends, and school. I feel so lucky that my children had such a great first experience away from home and that their first experience in the learning environment was a positive one. I highly recommend Kensington South Naperville to anyone looking into childcare/early education services!
Both of our children attended Kensington of South Naperville from the time they were newborns through PreK. We had amazing experiences with both children. From the facilities, to the teachers, to the Director, everything was always top notch. The school really became like an extension of our family. We could not be happier with our experience at Kensington and highly recommend them to anyone looking for childcare.
All 3 of my children attended (or still are attending) Kensington school of south Naperville. We absolutely love the school- the facilities, the staff, the curriculum, the other families, have all been an invaluable part of my children’s early education and socialization. The staff is truly like family to us and has made us feel so welcomed and comfortable over the years. My kids have learned and grown so much and the preparation my oldest kids had for elementary school was excellent. We have always cherished the art projects, the handmade gifts they’ve made us, and the musical performances they’ve worked on each year at school- Truly some of the most special memories- we are so grateful for our experiences at this school !!
We pulled our child from this daycare within a week. The teachers there lack warmth. They were surprisingly cold to our child (and to us too) from Day 1. We would stop by a few times during the day to observe how our child was doing. And almost every time we would find her crying alone unattended. One time, I even saw that our child was wearing only one shoe and was limping around in the room, yet no one put the shoe back on her other foot (until the center director saw me standing there at which time she herself went in and did it). Another time, I saw a teacher hurriedly and rashly lifting our child from the floor to change her diaper while she continued to cry; there was nothing gentle about the way the teacher went through the process and she didn't even try to cajole our child while changing her diaper. We understood quickly that we were merely a cog in the wheel for them. They would start the day for the toddlers in the infants' room (because they didn't have enough toddlers to fill the toddler room in the morning) and then move the toddlers to the toddler room later in the morning. That would throw off our child, as it did others. They do the same in late afternoon when the toddler numbers start to dwindle. Our children are not cattle. We also heard a lot of children wailing in other classrooms. Our requests to the daycare, whether food-related or otherwise, for our child were always met with an unyielding and dismissive "no." No flexibility in their rules. No gentle and thoughtful touch to child care. No warmth in the place. This place is all hype.
