What Parents Say
This is not a daycare center - it is Kennedy Space Center, a major space exploration visitor attraction in Florida. Reviews describe it as an excellent educational destination with real spacecraft, interactive exhibits, and knowledgeable staff.
Parking gates open at 8:30. Go for the right couple of lanes, those are manned by people and they go much faster. The left lanes have the fee taken by machine. Many people seem to have difficulty getting them to work. We signed up online for the 2 hr extended bus tour a few weeks early. It was well worth it. You get into areas otherwise inaccessible. There is lots to see and do. Way more than can fit into 1 day, so you'll have to prioritize if you only have 1 day. It's amazing to stand right next to an actual shuttle that has flown into space. We liked to simulated shuttle takeoff, an interesting experience. There are lots of meet and greets (see online), and simulators that we didn't have time for. A really fun, excellent day.
Kennedy Space Center is a massive facility and well worth setting aside several hours to fully explore. Plan for around four hours to see everything at a comfortable pace, and be prepared to do a lot of walking. There are plenty of opportunities for photo ops throughout the entire complex, from exhibits to outdoor areas. Some areas require bus transportation to and from different facilities, which is well organized and easy to navigate. You’ll get to see where shuttles are built, explore multiple exhibits, and learn how the island is used. Videos and presentations cover both the history of the space program and what future projects look like, which adds depth to the experience. The staff throughout the center are friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. It’s an educational stop that’s engaging for all ages. There’s also a cafe at the main location for meals and snacks. Overall, you definitely get your money’s worth and it’s a must visit if you’re in the area.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Stars Aren't Just in the Sky – They Drive the Buses! The Kennedy Space Center has always been a "go-to" spot for us on every trip, but this visit was truly on another level. We were lucky enough to witness a rocket launch, which was absolutely breathtaking—a memory we will cherish forever! The center itself is just an amazing place to visit, but what really makes it shine is the people. The staff here are wonderful and friendly, but I have to give a special shout-out to the bus service. As a disabled person, I have often struggled with transportation at other venues; I’ve never actually had my mobility scooter taken onto a bus before. Kennedy Space Center made it possible, and they did it with grace. The bus drivers are the absolute stars of this space. They didn't just "do their job"; they helped make my visit happen with a genuine smile and a friendly attitude. Their support was fantastic, and they truly deserve to be praised for the care they show to guests. If you are looking for a place that offers out-of-this-world sights and down-to-earth kindness, you couldn't ask for more. We can't wait to come back!
I didn't know what to expect here, but I seem to remember going on a field trip when I was a kid, and thought it would make a good excursion while visiting Port Canaveral. We arrived early (8:30am) on a Saturday. Parking was $15. When the park opened at 9am we went directly to the bus tour line and boarded a bus to the off-site exhibits. The map suggests that you allow 3 hours and that was accurate. You drive to one stop, get back on a bus, drive to a second stop, and there is an informative video during the tour. Then we had lunch (packed our own soft sided lunch box with Publix subs just to save money --worth it imo) and returned to the main visitor center. We saw another exhibit and left by 3:00pm. It was a full day and we still had more to see, but felt fulfilled with everything we had learned that day. Honestly, they do a great job of shuttling guests around for each presentation. The videos and demonstrations are so well done. Rather than make you wait in a long line, they will have part of the video playing for your group, then move to the next room for the rest of the presentation. That's such a smart way to move large groups at one time. 👏 I took my family of 5 (age 4, 10, and 12) plus a space-loving husband. I learned so much as an adult, and my kids had a great time. Its so much fun for the whole family! I would return here again!
I spent much of today at Kennedy Space Center, and it’s hard to overstate the feeling of standing beneath real flight hardware. Seeing Space Shuttle Atlantis displayed in its full launch configuration immediately puts the scale and ambition of the Shuttle era into perspective. It’s one thing to see photos or videos, but being there in person makes the engineering, history, and human effort feel tangible. The Rocket Garden is beautifully arranged and gives you a sense of the progression of American spaceflight, while the Atlantis exhibit is immersive and thoughtfully designed. What struck me most is that this isn’t just a museum — it’s an active spaceport. Knowing that modern rockets like Falcon 9 are being processed and launched from the same grounds adds a layer of realism that you don’t get anywhere else. The entire complex is clean, well organized, and accessible whether you’re deeply interested in aerospace or simply curious. If you have any interest in history, engineering, or the future of space travel, Kennedy Space Center is absolutely worth the visit. And one pro tip. Skip the kiosk and go straight to the information center and buy your tickets there. You need to be previously set up with the ID.me website which is the federal government, I believe.
