I went here from prek- to 3rd grade for aftercare. I have to say, I am appalled by my experience. It was always madness by the kids, it was dirty, and the staff members dont know how to manage. I was bullied multiple times, and the staff did nothing. During summer camp the only interesting thing were the field trips. Nothing else. I remember my friend once fell down and was bleeding, and the staff did nothing. I have to say do not enroll your kids here. I am so glad I left after 3rd grade.
My kids have been going here for almost 2 years now and the staff are wonderful! My kids are well cared for and always love the summer time with all the activities that the YMCA provides! They love soccer with Spencer and all the staff members are AMZING! Mrs. Samantha is the best and is always ready to help families in need as well as provide any information she can.
I have utilized the services at Ken Shirk Learning Center for aftercare and most recently summer camp for my boys. My children feel comfortable, safe, and loved. Ms. Heidi is an absolute saint in my book. I think Ms. Samantha(director) does a phenomenal job staying on top of things and hiring the right staff (which usually are young adults) to care for the children.
I have never seen a daycare like this one. Unorganized and dirty. The center's employees seem underqualified, spoke with a few teachers and the director of the school. They all seem to be heavy smokers, you can smell it when they are talking to you. The place, look outdated, dirty, toys were everywhere. I was simply amazed in a horrifying way. I was looking at those children at the daycare and wondering why would their parents even feel safe to drop off their kids here at this particular YMCA daycare place?! The daycare shares their classrooms with church, it would look unorganized and filthy after the weekend services supposedly. FYI : They don't provide fresh meal for the kids, parents have to pack their own lunches. They only serve snacks throughout the day. Not recommending this place at all.
Best place ever! Staff and teachers are AMAZING and actually care about my childs development . I am amazed at how advanced my 2 year old is and how much she has learned. I had 2 other kids that went there a couple of years ago and I must say with the new director the changes are undoubtedly noticable! Great atmosphere and very affordable. Highly recommended!!!!!!
