What Parents Say
KCS Academy receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise the caring staff, educational activities, and their children's happiness, particularly in the infant/toddler rooms. However, serious concerns include management issues, classroom conditions, and a critical safety incident involving a child left unsupervised outside the facility.
This place is incredible! I was traveling to Chicago for work and needed a drop in daycare for my children. I was so fortunate to find KC's Academy because they could accommodate us and helped us feel at home in a new city. The staff are amazing with children and my kids didn't want to leave. This is such a gem of a place. I felt safe leaving my kids in their very capable hands and received updates throughout the day through their app. Highly recommend!
This place is wonderful. I had my 9 month old at KCs from 3 months until now. The only reason we aren't still there is because our neighbors nanny share (whom we have known for years and originally hoped to wrk with but she wasn't available) opened up and we can't pass up the convenience. I literally cannot say enough great things about the staff at KCs. They truly love and care about children in the Baby Bears room. Adrianne was the manager and my son loved seeing her every morning. Tatiana and Gabby were there most of the evenings when I picked him up. He was genuinely happy to see all their staff when I dropped him off each day- an amazing feeling for a full time working parent. I was so sad the last day picking him up and seeing how much Gabby was going to miss him, and he, missing Gabby. The staff is loving and cares about your child, from development progress to social adaptability. The price is worth every penny. They have plenty of weekly activities and the children receive a variety of educational exposure such as Spanish class, music class, circle time, learning new words and performing classroom skits :) The facility isn't brand new, but it's very clean and the comfort I feel in the space sold me at the beginning, but it's the staff and my son's daily happiness that had me convinced this was a great place to be.
My son is 5 months and has been going to KC for the past few weeks. We could not be happier with our experience so far. His teachers, (especially Mrs Tania!!!) are so caring and kind. They really take the time to get to know each child and I feel comfortable every day knowing my son is in good hands. Thank you KC!
I beg you, do not send your child here. I had my child enrolled here for a short time and severely regret it. The "owner" and director, Ms. Cummings is a rude, arrogant and fraudulent woman that does not care about the children in the least. She is only concerned about the money. The Pre-K class is held in a dingy basement, the teachers are clueless at best and incompetent at worst. My child would come home in tears because of her treatment at the school. For a while I thought it was her being over dramatic. After spending a day at the school I realized she had good reason to be upset. And this was with me around, I can only imagine what it was like with my back turned. There are other, cheaper, and better run schools with staff that truly care about the children entrusted to their care.
Found a 3-4 year old child left locked in a nearby park in 80-90 degree weather and walked her back to the school; luckily live in the area and guessed that this is where she came from
