I didn't feel the negative atmosphere from the Assistant Director when I initially contacted the center but once enrolled, I attempted to speak to her and she didn't make eye contact or even look up to acknowledge me. I did speak to her about her attitude and let that pass but when I called and had to speak with her about something her tone was just, I really don't want to talk to you. I did speak with the Director, Tia and she ignored what I was saying and just talked about how she couldn't run the center without Emily' help. I told her I was speaking about the poor customer service. Now, when I filled out the paperwork, I specifically asked that no concentrated sweets be given and I was told by Emily that she understood and they did not do concentrated sweets and send the children home hyper. Now, I would like to know why they felt it was ok to give my child concentrated sweets just because it was Halloween!!!! That is unacceptable and I even attempted to call to remind them and noone answered so I left a message. I think it was deliberate and I am removing my child from this center and i DO NOT recommend this center. Also, they did not contact me when she was accidentally kicked by another student while playing
As a parent, nothing brings more peace of mind than knowing your child is safe, loved, and truly cared for—and that’s exactly what JFK Daycare provides. From the moment i enrolled my daughter, I knew I had found something special. The environment is warm, welcoming, and structured in the best way. The staff go above and beyond every single day, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the kids’ growth and happiness. The curriculum is thoughtful, fun, and developmentally appropriate—my daughter comes home excited to share what she learned or created. A huge thank you to Director Tia Collins, whose leadership and passion shine through in every corner of JFK. Tia is not only professional and communicative, but she’s also incredibly nurturing and attentive. Her dedication sets the tone for the entire center, and we couldn’t be more grateful. If you’re looking for a daycare that feels more like a family—this is it. JFK has truly become a second home for my daughter, and we feel so lucky to be part of this community.
My daughter loves going here! I love her teacher and the front desk staff! So kind and attentive. I really appreciate always being greeted so kindly too. I’m really happy for such a great experience for my daughter’s first time in daycare! They also try to make things so fun with having theme weeks and cute parties for the kids! 10 out of 10
Things started out great with this place. He loved his teachers, and they loved him. One of his teachers quit, and I was so sad because he seemed to click with her very well. I then started noticing a high teacher turnover rate. After witnessing how the leadership treated their employees, I can see why. She was belittling and berating to her employees as well as the children. When he moved up a class, I started to get reports of him misbehaving which was strange because what they were reporting he was doing was out of character for my child. He’s a sweet boy, and has a speech delay so sometimes he would become frustrated when he didn’t feel like he was being heard. The teacher that continued to complain about his behavior had a sour demeanor, and I can’t remember seeing her smile once. Not only was my child having “behavior issues” the teachers were having behavior problems with the whole class in general and the class below. They stated he wouldn’t sit still during circle time. Yes, because he’s 3. Everything finally came to a head when I was asked by the manager of the school to have a meeting with her and my child’s teacher. The point of the meeting was to give me an ultimatum: to either attend parenting classes multiple nights a week indefinitely or give my two weeks notice. Well, they received my two weeks notice. It was completely unprofessional and not their place to suggest parenting classes, especially since I wasn’t the one having issues with him. During the meeting, they explained that they were having outside educators come in to teach the current staff and low and behold my child behaved better. I didn’t even bother approaching the owner because she is the mother of the manager of the facility on Needmore. My son is now happy and thriving in his new preschool. The teachers love him, and he loves them. He is one of the best behaved kids in his class. Compassionate patient teachers are like gold.
We appreciated all of the teachers and staff at Just for Kids who went out of their way to make our girls feel welcome right after our move from VA. Our school aged child loved the meals and snacks provided, along with the field trips provided during the summer program. Our toddler had a harder time adjusting to all the change, but her teachers were patient and understanding. The front office worked with us to accommodate our arrival mid-summer, and they were always friendly and ready to answer questions. The facility was clean and neat!
