What Parents Say

Negative reviewers report serious concerns about billing practices, food safety, unprofessional management, and lack of organizational accountability.
This is the best daycare that my son has gone to. He has been attending for a year & a half now & we both love it! There are days when I drop my son off & he will ask me to pick him up late so he can stay longer. Lol. They provide transportation to and from Taylor Elementary which is a HUGE convenience( I go to work at 7am). Junior Academy takes the children to tons of field trips & they are always doing something fun. I want to give a big THANK YOU to Christine, Wendy, Mickey, Karen, Candace, Mr. Man & the others for all the amazing things you do on a daily basis. You all are amazing and you make it feel like a big family.
Our son attended JA for daycare and preschool from the age of 3 to 5. He loved it. The teacher were so good and sweet. Mrs Cathy, Mrs. Andrea and Mrs Day were all so gentle and kind to our son. The preschool (PPC) launch via the state of colorado was not well organized. This was not JA's issue but a state with lack of planning via the state. JA made it as smooth as they were able. We now have our son in the summer program and they go on a field trip everyday. He has been able to do more this summer than I could ever have managed. I see a few comments on over charging etc. Pay your bills and understand the policies. We have never had issues. We plan on putting our youngest son in soon because it is a place we trust.
This place is so raggedy. The first thing you need to know is that they will not keep your kids lunch cold. Second but other first thing you need to know is that they say they offer care Monday through Friday from whatever time in the morning until 6, then short you an hour you pay for once a month in Thursday. The next thing you need to know is all the teachers, all the staff are raggedy and unprofessional it's like if you had the low key crackheads on your block watching your kid. All the equipment is old, everything smells like pee. The days the front desk lady is not there you can literally just walk in and go through the whole building without being questioned. They feed your kids leftovers from the preschool for snack so sometimes your kid had spaghetti that sat for over 8hrs and has bacteria etc. They kicked me out of this daycare because I wanted to send my son a lunch box with a ice pack and they wouldn't let me so I reported them to the department of nutrition and human services. The right hand woman to the center her name is Melody says she has been running the daycare for 60yrs and she doesn't care if your kids have safe food. Their not going to carry around more than one cooler and they aren't going to spend the money to keep it cold. She was on the board she knows all the ways to get around the rules and stay in compliance with the nutrition board and as long as she sends the flyer she did saying their not in food safety compliance then she has done all she has to do. I welcome you to call her and ask her yourself as I know it seems appalling this would be the attitude of one of the biggest daycare chain in Colorado Springs
Hello! This information is for anybody considering putting there kiddos in the Jr. Academy Children's Centers for before and aftercare. Here is my story and experience with this center. Jr Academy kids is over priced and not well put together. The Director (Melody) who runs the entire program is unprofessional and rude. They do not work with you on anything. My husband has been deployed for some time now and we have been on a waitlist for over 4 months just to get my son into the after school program. Luckily, they had let me know recently that they could allow me to utilize the before care program in the mornings as slots are usually not ever full (I needed it due to my work schedule for the month). When it came time to removing my son from the before care program, they let me know they were just going to remove me completely off the waitlist for the after care program. I had tried to explain the situation to Melody and let her know the packet was only set up for the after care program and not for the before care program, her response was " it is what it is". I had asked why they had different invoices for the before and after care (as they are different programs), and she again, stated that it just "Is what it is". She eventually ended up hanging up on me. Please save yourself the money and trouble of dealing with this company. I have never dealt with such a shady group such as them.
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING! This facility is ONLY about your wallet and not about the kids and summer day camp. I am not legal, lawyer geared I’m just a Mom who really liked what I read about junior academy center day camp for my five year old. It was hard being on disability to get my money lined up for six weeks but I did; only to hear about this $90 application fee the day of!? I was also supposed to be prorated for Monday since we did not start until Tuesday. $230/a week includes lunch. My Daughter was not fed day 1. She was overwhelmed and exhausted with 0 to say about camp. I was told she was too excited to eat?? I asked them to make sure to feed her day 2, swimming; she came home hungry, red from sun and super exhausted with no feedback on her Red Cross trained swimming adventure. I had packed sun block. At this point I am highly concerned about false care and hidden application fee. I had already paid for a full week $230. Not only did I get refused a reimbursement of $138 but they are going after me for $42 of $90 application fee that was not on the site nor in the two packets I read and filled out. She also said I signed an argreement that I would give a two week notice before leaving the six week agreement. I was hoping to get support and help with my kiddo...instead I got lied to and robbed!
