I've been here for a while, there's been ups and downs about whether or not it's right for someone to join. Pros~ Free meals, certifications for manufacturing, finance or CMA. GED and Highschool diploma is available. They allow you to use washers even if you're non residential, provide hygiene supplies when needed. You can have a chance to stay on center while you do college. Graduation is available for people who finished trade and highschool. They also do events at times during holidays. Trips are available. Cons- Curfews a big role, avoid getting into relationships if you can't focus. Food diet can be quite hard to some people. Drug test is required. Please have self respect when coming here, horseplay, spreading rumors will not help you long term. There's people who do care about your well-being.

I’ve never been the type to take opportunities for granted. Yeah, people love to complain about Job Corps the food, the early mornings but honestly, that’s just life. I came to Job Corps for Medical Assisting, and while it wasn’t perfect, I learned a lot and met some solid people. Of course, there were some bumps along the way drama, misunderstandings, and way too many write-ups over small things. The mold situation was wild too, like they really need to do better with the living conditions. Some staff acted like they were rooting for you but just your failure, talking behind students’ backs instead of lifting us up. And don’t get me started on security half of them didn’t even know the rules and made them up which is crazy fr I was out here reading the whole handbook front to back (lil cap). Still, through all the chaos, I stayed focused, kept my head up, and walked away with experience, lessons, and a stronger mindset -vante

Jobcorps is good for getting certifications. It’s the lack of help and humanity that is in that place. I was doing everything in the book and keeping myself busy. I ended up not dorming anymore because the staff had no respect for students at all. You’re not living in that place or trying to enjoy school, you’re more worried about what others rules they are going to being out of their behind for THEIR convenience. Older staff had a power trip with students. Often talking about students, going into rooms without knocking, lying and manipulating. You cannot hang your towel in the bathroom, or put personal items in the sink area or shower area. Can’t enjoy a space they heavily talked about when I was touring Jobcorps. Roll call is at 4pm and who would want to be bothered after a long day of school( 7:55-3:15). Roll call again at 9:30. Bullying from staff is heavy in that place and they love to treat young adults like little children. They also barely had any supplies for dorms and would get mad if it’s not cleaned all the way when they were supposed to be providing supplies. You also get put in “timeout” or “ room restriction” for not following their rules. Mind you, the rules are not even in the student handbook, yes I went that far because I wasn’t about to be manipulated by older staff. Dorming is what I wouldn’t recommend. It was awful. Staff in education building was good. I have no complaints whatsoever. The only thing I would say that this place is like a highschool. There’s nothing really college about it except the material you are learning. If you’re looking for a college based learning experience, this is not the place for you( they hustle you into thinking that on advertisements). Next, wellness is great except for a certain staff who can’t do her job right(The main nurse for anyone who knows I’m talking about). She’s rude and don’t know how to speak to people. I often would call her out for being rude to my students that I was bringing in. Recently before I left, I was a little late to lunch and this nurse had lunch duty. She said I had to let the teachers go because I came late to MY LUNCH PERIOD. That was not a real rule. For the positive side, I gained many certifications and made my resume longer than it was before. They are really on top of everyone getting what they need at a certain point. They do recognize students who finish their trade/highschool/GED. I do feel as if more happiness should be established in that place.

This place is good for getting your certificates like I got my BLS, CET, CPT, CMA,and CPR but a lot of the staff there creep on the students. There was only one janitor because the other one got a girl pregnant. Staff are mean and when you finally crack under the pressure they blame you for not being professional. They don't even help you get a job when your at the end. And if you report staff they kick you out just to avoid paperwork. The wellness staff are fatphobic and the dorms has a bedbug and bug infestation. I couldn't get my permit because I was so uncomfortable with the teacher as he used to flirt with me and a couple other students. The staff there do not care if you get a job or not, they only care if the are ranked as top jobcorps center. They are broke and could barely fix the heating AND cooling systems so it was either too cold or too hot. I do not recommend this place for anyone.

I was on the phone with my son when a staff named Ms sutton came in around 8:50 on a wednesday night knowing my son had work the next day and told him “if i can’t sleep neither can you” and she black mailed him to get up saying she won’t let him leave the building for the weekend if he doesn’t wake up.
