What Parents Say
Isaac Camacho Head Start receives mixed reviews with strong praise for teaching staff quality and professionalism, but significant criticism regarding administrative responsiveness and parent involvement policies. Parents report difficulties with communication, enrollment processes, and parent engagement opportunities.
I was a parent with region 19 for 3 years but this was by far the worst experience. One of my sons teachers there keep complaining about the lack of help they were getting, we were supposedly not able to volunteer even after I did the classes and background check to volunteer. However, I was good enough to be on the parent committee but not volunteer. This center is definitely not parent friendly, they blame it on the families being military but they won't let you be involved.
Have had all my kids go this center. Most teachers are great and I haven’t had any big issues here. My children loved going here and I currently have my daughter in their early head start who also enjoys it.
Last year in July I had called 4 centers(mainly this one) even had my husband go to the open enrollment. So many that earn more than my husband told us they have a military exemption and they all acted dumb like it’s the first time they’ve heard of it. Had to call and call and call. Not once did they call back. They don’t care about families. If they did they would hire competent adults that have the decency to call back and continue the process with you and not go to lunch for 1-3 hours.
I had a very bad experience with their customer service. My preschooler is on their waiting list and after finding a sister center with only one open slot both myself and the other centers director have attempted to contact Isaac Camacho about having our application transfered over. This is a very simple task. Find the files and email or fax them to the other school so my kid can attend class. But no i have left voicemails and been transferred around with no help at all. I am very disappointed for the lack of assistance i have received from the several ppl i have either spoke with or left voicemails for. I have no comment on the school's educational performance however seeing that my child was forfeited her education at the sister schiol because someone at Isaac Camacho couldnt simply fax over some papers or call me back to further advise does not sit well with me.
They have instructors doing false cps reports and when questioned they Ban the parent from the school. Their is no accountability there.
