Our daughter began attending Irvington Preschool this past fall and absolutely loves it. I love the play-based learning environment and child-led approach of this school. The co-op model creates a wonderful community where all the kids and families get to know each other. Teacher Sam is a gem! She truly understands how to foster an environment where children can grow their social/emotional skills as well as a love for learning. She also designs such thoughtful activities that help children learn about each other and the world.
We’ve had a truly wonderful experience at Irvington Preschool. It’s a warm, play-based community where children are genuinely respected and encouraged to explore at their own pace. The co-op model gave us a chance to be involved in the classroom and really connect with other families, which made the experience meaningful and we were able to build authentic community. Teacher Sam is absolutely exceptional—she brings so much care, insight, and calm presence to the classroom. She understands young children deeply and creates a space that feels both joyful and grounded. Our child thrived in her care, and we always felt confident and grateful knowing he was with her. Irvington Preschool is a gem, and we feel lucky to have been part of it.
We love Irvington Preschool! Teacher Sam is a true gem and understands what it takes to make each child feel comfortable and enthusiastic as they transition into school. We love the school's child-led approach and also really value the community that we've found being part of the school.
We LOVE Irvington Preschool. My daughter has been there for two years and graduating this spring and my son will be joining the coop crew in the fall. Teacher Sam always has multiple sensory areas to set up, an art activity, the outdoor play space is always available. There is a great big gym for kids to get even more wiggles out. They truly are learning through play. An added benefit is by volunteering I get to know the other kids and families really well. By joining a coop I feel like I’ve found my village that is often promised but never comes to fruition.
Wish I could give this preschool 10 stars! My son had attended for two years, and I will definitely be sending my younger too. Teacher Sam just has that magic touch and speaks the language of each individual kid. We’re slowly working on improving the space, but the space is the way it is because kids are truly free to create, explore, dig and play in so many creative ways. I love the play-based learning environment and this amazing community of parents. Highly recommend!
