My daughter attended Imagine Nation Daycare Center from the time she was six weeks old until she was almost three, and over the years I’ve watched the quality decline little by little. I tried to overlook the issues, but things became impossible to ignore. The childcare presents itself as Christian-based and Montessori. However, in my personal experience, I never saw any Christian-based activities being offered, and what I observed did not reflect Montessori practices. On multiple occasions, I walked in to find my daughter and other children watching the iPad, along with other activities that, in my understanding, don’t align with Montessori principles. To me, these labels felt more like marketing buzzwords than something actually implemented in the classroom. About six months ago, I arrived to pick up my daughter and saw a little boy buckled into a chair. My daughter later told me he wasn’t listening and was put in “the buckle chair” as a consequence. This was extremely concerning to me because, according to the parent handbook, the center does not use time-out. I was also concerned because the childcare minimum standards (the law) 746.2805, states this is an absolute NO. This type of practice is unacceptable. When I brought what I saw and what my daughter told me to the director, she immediately denied that anything like that could have happened. She jumped to that conclusion before even investigating. She told me she would “look into it,” but her response made it clear to me that she had already made up her mind, and that’s exactly what happened. The explanation I was later given was that children “buckle themselves” into the chair. Fast forward to later, my daughter told me she was buckled into the same chair because she “wasn’t listening.” When I approached the director again, she repeated the same immediate denial, again before investigating. Later that day, I got a follow-up call saying it was all a misunderstanding, that they do not use time-out. I guess my daughter must have made it up? I found this extremely dismissive and insulting. I was then told that all the children had been buckled into chairs because the floor was being mopped. But the following week, her teacher told me something completely different—that all the children were sitting on the carpet except for my daughter, and she was buckled in “for safety.” Their stories didn’t match, which made me even more uncomfortable. Out of concern, I checked the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services website (which publicly lists violations for all childcare centers). I found a previous violation for the use of a “buckle chair” as a form of time-out (the same exact verbiage that my daughter used). Seeing that made me furious because I felt I had been dismissed and gaslit instead of taken seriously. The state report also mentioned that the buckle chairs had been removed, but I personally continued to see them in use after that. When I asked the director about this, I was told that the violation happened in “a different classroom.” That response didn’t give me any reassurance. I am only giving this center one star because I’m unable to do zero stars. Stay far away from this center!
I'm happy to send my two kids here for daycare. My oldest is shy and reserved but she enjoys coming here and making friends. She was also potty trained with the help of the staff. I personally like that they have splash days in the summer. My wife and I are expecting one more baby and he will be going to this daycare as well.
Can’t say enough about this place!! My son has been going here since he was an infant he now is 4. First thing I noticed when I picked this learning center out is that the security system most definitely makes me feel like my son is safe and I can work peacefully knowing that. Very clean and always friendly staff to greet you. My son loves his teachers Miss. Ronnie and Miss Monica he talks about them all the time and what he’s learning. I 1000% recommend this learning center for your little ones. Ashleigh
I'm grateful to have found a daycare for my children that I can feel comfortable with when I am working. My daughter attended 2 different daycares before enrolling at Imagine Nation, and our experiences has been like night and day. From our interactions with the staff to the quality of care and comfort level my child displays when there. Since we made the switch, my daughter loves daycare (and bugs me on the weekends and late at night to go) My husband and I drive 45+ minutes ,each way, in traffic every weekday to take our children in. But we wouldnt have it any other way. It is worth it for the peace of mind and the satisfaction of our babies getting quality care. The teachers we have had have been outstanding dear to my heart. I appreciated the diversity of the staff and the student body. I've watched my children 's comfort level expand (within reason), social interactions increase, and their knowledge and skills continue to grow. This daycare is a gem.
My daughter attended this location for 4 years and I now have my 8 month old son here as well. Everyone is so nice and loves and takes care of your kids so well. They are also one of the more affordable options for childcare in the area. Highly recommend!
