What Parents Say
Honeygo Child Development Center receives mostly positive reviews praising warm, caring staff and high teacher retention. However, one parent reported serious concerns including inappropriate discipline methods, inadequate supervision, and dismissive management response to policy violations.
We took the kids there for a year. Due to financial issues, we had to pull them and try a different center. Six weeks later we were back at Honeygo. The teachers and staff are so warm and kind, it's hard not to feel welcomed when walking through the doors. Often, we use the center as the incentive for the kids to go to sleep, "Do you want to go to school tomorrow? You need to stay and bed and get some sleep." They are so eager to go, they actually stay in bed. I strongly recommend this center to anyone who has a need for care.
My daughter loves it here! The owners are very friendly people and it feels like home the way they treat their students. My daughter loves all the attention they give her. The teacher for the 2s room has been working there since she was 17. Says a lot about teacher retention rate. They also have an on site cook which is a plus!
My child was there very briefly, and in that time, he was pressure to be potty trained entirely too quickly, and everyday I was being told what he had done wrong, which seemed to me to be very normal 2-yr old behavior. The last straw was the day that I came to pick him up and found the teacher standing in front of a closed closet, with my child screaming inside. The teachers had told the children that there were spiders in the closet, to keep them from going in there to play, so my son was terrified that there were spiders that were going to bite him! The teacher's defense was that my son had been having a temper tantrum and "bothering the other children." I tried to talk to the main teacher in the room, as well as the owners, but was told that even though that sort of thing was not policy, and that teacher had violated another rule by sending the other teacher home and leaving herself in the room with too many children alone, that the center would not even so much as move that particular teacher out of my son's class, much less discipline her. In the days after the incident, while I was trying to figure out what to do, my son was constantly being sent to the "office" for minor infractions, and I was told that at barely 3-yrs old, he should be past the tantrums and be able to listen well. I spoke with his doctor who said that the place sounded horrible and I should move my son immediately, which I did. He started at a new center, and was almost immediately like a new child. He was so much happier, and the new center told me they have no idea what the people at Honeygo were talking about, because my son never has tantrums there and has had no problems at all. It has been nearly 6 months, and my son continues to be a happy, well behaved, child at this new center. Obviously there was a lot more going on at Honeygo than I even knew about, and it was horrible for my
My son loves it here. He is always very happy when I pick him up in the afternoon. They are very flexible and kind. This is a great daycare center
