Honey Bear Day Care Center receives mixed reviews. The staff here were very welcoming and professional. Staff members were always ready to help out when needed. I can see the way they engage with the kids and it brings warmth to my heart knowing that they are being cared for so well outside of their homes. Not to mention they are also partnered with and offer early head start and Illinois Action for Children’s Pre-School.
Honey Bear Day Care is a wonderful place for children to grow, learn, and feel cared for! The staff is committed to every child’s development and offer enrichment programs for all ages. We had a great time teaching hand hygiene and hope to be back!
This day care center strives to provide the parents and children they serve with professional and kind care! Recently I was given the chance to share information regarding health and hand hygiene to the staff and children to ensure a clean and safe environment within the day care.
This daycare is so unprofessional! I was trying to enroll my infant and was told numerous times there was an opening for October, which was fine for me. I was told to stop by and bring birth certificate and physical and speak with Amanda. I stop by with my sons paperwork, they make copies to then tell me the director is not there (after being told she would be there) a few days later I called back and Wanda said she already received my pay stubs and she forwarded them to Amanda the director. Mind you, she couldn’t send a “thank you we received your documents which were forwarded to Amanda the director, we’ll get back to you.” Nothing!! So I wait a couple more days, nothing! I call back today and the usual attitude Wanda gives every time I call, cutting me off, not letting me speak, still saying there’s an opening for October and if I want to complete the application for action for children I should come in. I’m aware it’s a process and I just wanted to start the application now, rather then in October when there was an opening. This has been what I’ve been trying to do all along but no one ever gave me a call back to inform me of anything. I had to keep calling. What a joke. I then receive a call from the director Amanda 10 minutes after and she tells me there is no opening until the beginning of next year! Wow. What a waste of my time! This place is so unprofessional!! If they’re this rude on the phone towards the parent I can only imagine how they treat the kids in there. I definitely dodged a bullet. Two weeks of my time wasted!!
I went to this day care because it was referred by a family friend , I submit paper work under the impression that my son would be on the wait list . I was told there would be an opening mid November which was okay with me at this point we were in July . Amanda told me she would call me mid November when they had availability . That time came I heard nothing from Amanda I called several times asking to speak to her all Wanda did was say they would take a message and that she would call back. Weeks would go by and nothing I would call same scenario would happen . At this point my job is asking when I would be able to come back to my regular schedule as we are now In DECEMBER and they said they would have availability mid November . Today 12/9 I speak to Wanda she claims my son was never put in the wait list and she has no idea when they would have availability . She interrupts you while you speak she even hung up on me because I gave her the same attitude she gives . Than she apologized because she didn’t realize my son was on the wait list . At this point their just a mess and unprofessional. I spoke to Amanda and asked her why she never called back she had no answer . At the end of the day I feel like they should keep ppl updated , and have way better customer service especially dealing with kids and mothers .i basically waste 5 months thinking they would have a space for my baby soon.
