What Parents Say
Honey Bear Child Care receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents praising the caring staff, educational programs, and child development outcomes. However, one recent review indicates a significant decline in communication and organization following management changes. Overall, parents report their children are happy, well-cared for, and prepared for school advancement.
My girls attend this daycare. Back when Ms. Peggy was running the center it was great. Excellent communication, attentive staff, and all around a wonderful place. I felt good about my children going there. Now, since her passing, it has gone down hill and fast. You can never get through to anyone on the phone. You leave messages and they go unanswered. You request your bill and never get it. My kids things are constantly being lost and never seen again. I don't even know what they are learning any more. I do not recommend this center at all.
I have nothing but good things to say about Honey Bear Early Learning Center. I actually grew up and went to school with the "new owners" but I lived right around the corner from Honey Bear my entire life. I have watched this business grow from scratch. I have my 3 youngest now attending there. My 8 year old twins go to wrap around care (before and after school) and my 4 year old is full day. They also go to summer program and let me tell you they have a blast! My youngest claims to hate learning but when I pick them up all 3 are never ready to come home. I love the school readiness programs that they follow and my 4 year old is more than ready to enter into kindergarden next year. I will recommend Honey Bear to anyone looking for child care.
My children went for years with no issues. When Zack took over, in the beginning it was okay. He struggled. This past summer was pure aweful! Absolutely no structure for school age kids, all 36 of them.Meals were Nasty. Started packing my girls lunches. Instructed to bring water bottles for reuse purposes and the staff works wash the nightly, NEVER HAPPENED! Management was let go, at least 20 lincensing violations filed in a 2 week period. Toddlers in the parking lot. The owners weren't showing up at the center. You call them? They straight lie to you. Act like they are unaware and trying to fix the many situations, that they create by not being present. When I removed my girls, I found a daycare that didn't up charge school age $25 co pay per child per week and is totally calm and productive with children. They honestly have a routine and schedule. Unlike honey bear... hopefully he closes soon. Zack will destroy his mother's legacy with his absence and lack of organization for the well being of the center. They aren't teaching anything so I'm not sure why it's a learning center now. Zack kicked out the GRGS program... who's teaching without degrees????
My son attended this daycare since he was 5 months old , he is now two and attending a new daycare! Back when the other owner was over this daycare it was so amazing . Every since Zack (the new owner) took over he has literally ran it to the ground. Zack isn’t a bad personal at all. But far as a businessman, he’s the worst. He pays for food out of his pocket. My kid would come home so hungry and I couldn’t figure out why. He Does not supply water for parents with infants for their baby bottles. They do not have a weekly learning plan in place for none of the infants or toddlers . They let them run around and play all day long , barely teaching them anything. So if you’re looking for a growth plan for your child you will not get one here. Zack does not pay his employees for any over time worked even if he agrees to it. He uses his sign out in front of his business , to post intimidating messages to HARRASS HIS EMPLOYEES and other parents that do not agree with him. He has an Autism Awareness sign but does not allow kids with learning disabilities or that need extra help at his center. He kicks them out , making them go to different centers, As he did with my niece . My child was unenrolled from his center for months and he was still making the teachers mark him absent, to receive payment from the state for him. Even though he was gone from his center for months… I encourage all parents to make sure you contact DHHS to remove him as a provider once u leave his center , because he says he’s always marked kids absent that has left. Meaning he will still receive payment for your child that they are not providing care for. ALSO, he makes parents pay a $200 fee EXTRA OUT OF POCKET a month for kids that are not potty trained, even though he does not offer potty training help within his classrooms . The fee is 25$ a week PER KID that is not potty trained. So if you have more than two kids attending . Monthly you will be paying more than the $200 out of pocket, Outside of what DHHS is covering . Which they have no knowledge of him doing as well. PARENTS CANNOT AFFORD A FEE THAT IS ABOVE WHAT DHHS HAS CALCULATED FOR THEIR MONTHLY INCOME! ITS NOT RIGHT ! No parent should be getting charged EXTRA money for invisible fees that are just being made up. Just wanted to tell my experience at this center , hoping it would help a new parent or existing parent . Far as the teachers , I truly appreciate you guys . Even though you guys work through these conditions you still show up with a smile. I hope you guys eventually find a center that truly appreciates you guys , like the parents do.
Honey Bear has been nothing short of amazing for both of my toddlers! The owners are very nice and helpful and make sure that every day is great for them. 5 stars 🙂
