What Parents Say
Hometown Child Care receives mixed reviews. Positive reviews praise caring teachers and good communication, while negative reviews from community observers raise serious concerns about inadequate supervision, children left unattended in swings, unsupervised playground time, and unprofessional staff behavior. One former employee reported poor treatment of workers and harsh discipline of children.
I literally live in this neighborhood and I would never bring my kid here. I go one town over to drop my baby off at daycare. I literally drive by the park and watch the staff sit the babies in the baby swings and just leave them there, then go and talk amongst themselves. I drove by today and saw three teachers, THREE! Just chatting with their backs to the children in the park. Two blk babies just sat in the swings looking so sad. My heart broke. How can you be a child care provider and treat the babies like this and in public at that!
I am very happy with the daycare teachers . I feel they truly care for my son. They always let me know how his day went and what he did. Ms Azul is so great . And so many more that I know he loves. Shout out to the bee room and turtle and squirrel room. You have been so great to us.
I am not a parent with a child here, I live in the community around the daycare. The adults do not watch the kids like they should. When they are outside they sit on a bench by the playground talking amongst themselves. They let the children run around unsupervised, I watched as 5 children were playing and climbing on the fountain out of eyesight of the adults that were supposed to be watching them. I watched as a little girl was climbing up a half dead pine tree still out of sight of the adults. I watched as a man was walking his dog, the kids began chasing and yelling at the dog. One girl even ran into the road to run around a tree so she could get in front of the dog. The dog was Startled and knocked down one of the kids trying to run from them. The man crossed the road to avoid the children. Crossed back over to the middle section. The kids began to run to get the to the dog and started running after the dog again. This time it was by the adults watching the kids, they said nothing and let the kids do as they pleased. I have encountered a similar problem last year during the summer while walking my dog. My dog was in the process of a bowel movement. The kids ran up to my dog as he was finishing and my dog was kicking mulch back and the mulch hit a child in the face. The woman watching the children stood there watching, then began to laugh as the wood chips hit the child in the face. I tried to apologize to her for it and she shook her head and laughed again as she said it was fine. I would NEVER take my children here. Based off of what I witnessed, I wouldn't trust them to watch their own kids let alone mine or someone else's kids.
All the reviews say nice place BUT the truth is...the owners are all related and have huge chips on the shoulders, treat the workers like poop and yell at the kids for trivial things. Wife worked there 2 days and was too disgusted to continue. Don't take your kids there...if you care.
Always friendly and changing to meet needs of their clients.
