I don't normally leave Google reviews, because I don't feel like people read them. But I really want to shout Out this school! I was telling my friend and his lady about my daughter's school, Home Away from Home and I was showing them pictures of all the activities, trips and Party they have monthly when I came across these photos. These are from Jan 2023, Their New Years party! My friend thought it was photos from a night club but I'm like naw, one of the Owner's daughters is known for planning the parties at the school. The room my daughter and her friends are in below is Bright Yellow! This woman covered that entire Bright yellow room with black table clothes, Neon lights, tape and decorations! Tell me what daycare you know gonna do that for a bunch of toddlers? Those pictures look like they rented out a small night club and had a 'Children's only 2023 New Years After Party'! That was just the beginning of the year. They transformed the school for all the holiday celebrations and never ask the parents to pay a dime. I Love this school, my daughter starts the pre-k program in the fall and I'm already looking forward to back to school night!
I can't stand when a person gets fired and then all of sudden their previous job was so bad and now that you're unemployed, you're a concerned citizen. Bye Felica!! My child graduated from Home Away from Home CDC but I bring in back for the summer camp program. I've never had nor heard any complaints about their cleanliness or pest control; and my son started attending when he was 11 months old. I'm a subsidy parent and during my walkthrough, I noticed the students all wearing uniforms. I asked was it mandatory because honestly, I didn't have any money for uniforms and I didn't see the point of the babies wearing them. Without hesitation The admin staff said the school provides the parents who need assistance with two uniforms and will assist in anything else they needed. All we had to was ask. Almost a year later, when Covid hit; it was hard for me, especially when they shut the schools down. Because I wasn't an essential worker, I couldn't get childcare during that time. The fear of Being home with my son, trying to keep him entertained during a global pandemic, had me shook! I didn't know what to do when Monday rolled around and I had to explain to my then 18 month old why he couldn't see Mrs. BB and Ms. Yaz. Until I got a knock on my door and was greeted by the admin staff with full PPE gear on and a box full of stuff. Even though it wasn't his teachers, we both were excited to see them! After speaking to them through the screen door and waiting for them to leave. I grabbed the box and inside was lesson plans with all the activities and supplies separated in daily Ziplock bags, food, toys, PPE starter kits with children size masks, you name it! There was also a message that said please login to Brightwheel for a special message! I logged into Brightwheel and the first thing I saw was a personalized video from my son's teacher. Greeting him the same way they would if they saw him in person! When I tell ya'll I cried ugly tears, I mean it! Everything in the box served a purpose even the PPE gear. The teachers and admin uploaded videos daily to explain how to complete the lesson plans and how to upload them into Brightwheel. They helped me learn how to play with my son and create a schedule that we could help me with potting training. My son was fully potty trained in 3 weeks. He even celebrated his two year old birthday on Zoom with his family, teachers and friends. He learned so much during the pandemic like his primary colors, numbers, shapes etc. They even had us do spirit week at Home. We celebrated all the holidays: Dr. Sues day, Earth day, Back to school, New years, Valentines etc. and each time the admin staff would come dressed up to drop off supplies and holiday gifts for us. The same admin stopped by Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to hand out food boxes, training underwear for my son (because he was newly potty trained), participation awards, prizes and any supplies we needed that they could help with. When school started back up again, it wasn't hard for my son to adapt to the changes of social distance, properly wearing his mask, etc. because him and I were taught on how school would change on Brightwheel and during the zoom calls. Words can't explain the love I have for this school and it's staff! I take my hat off to the owner because only someone with a big heart and pure intentions can get an entire school and its staff to function like normal school at home for almost 3 years during a global pandemic. I will always stand up for this school, even if that means staying up until almost 2am on a Friday to defend it's honor against used to be employees. I recommend anyone looking for childcare to go to Home Away From Home CDC 1 or 2 you won't regret it!!!
I am incredibly grateful for the loving care my child has received at this daycare. Born with several medical concerns, I was initially anxious about placing her in someone else's hands. However, meeting Ms. Rudd was a reassuring blessing. Her warmth and unwavering support throughout our journey allowed me to feel confident that my daughter was in a nurturing environment. Over the past three years, I've watched her flourish and learn so much, which fills my heart with joy. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful daycare to all my family, friends, and loved ones. Ms. Joy, the director, has created such a loving atmosphere that truly supports both the staff and the children. We are so lucky to be part of this amazing community. #ittakesavillage
Home Away from Home is an amazing daycare. My son learns so much at the daycare and he just turned 3 June 27th. Ms Joy is an amazing director, very understanding. My son favorite teacher is Ms. Yasmin, he connected with her instantly, she loves him. I love this daycare for my child, he shows growth everyday. My child even knows his number & colors& all these different truck names at just the age of 3!
I Love this school! I have two children that started out in the infant room and continued to attend until they graduated from the pre-K program. The owner is very sweet and always available when we need her. Every center has their ups and downs, no one is perfect. I've had a few moments where i felt like I wasn't being heard by my children's teachers but once I met with the administrative staff, things started changing immediately. I was very nervous coming to a new center because I've had issues in the past. But Baby.... This school is amazing. I have always believed that children can sense the good in people and the bad in people. On my first day of dropping my children off; before the we could make past the threshold my youngest, he's 2 years old, smiled at the older lady who opened the door and gave her a hug. She picked him up, gave him the tight, grandma hug and introduced herself to him. Let me repeat myself, She introduced herself to my 2 year old son, like he was dropping me off at school. LOL My daughter who just turned 3 years old was hesitant at first because it was a new environment but once the teacher reached out her hand and asked her did she want to eat breakfast, and told her what they were having, that was she needed to hear. Her nerves disappeared and she went running downstairs to the cafeteria with the teacher. The food smelled so good. The administrator that did the walk through with me asked me did I want to join them for breakfast? I declined, but I did want to see how my children were doing downstairs. I walked to the cafeteria and peaked my head around the corner and saw my 3 year old eating pancakes, turkey bacon (I asked, that's how I know. They don't serve pork products) and eggs. She was sitting a table with 5 other kids talking and laughing like she knew these kids. I'm not gonna lie, I cried on my way back upstairs to my car. I felt so much relief knowing they were going to be okay. I have nothing but great things to say about this school! My children are in public school now and they still attend the summer camp program every year! Both schools are going to IFLY in August and the family members are invited! I can't wait!!!
