I’m so glad we stopped! The place was clean, bright and inviting. The smell of balsam greeted me at the door. They have products that have been made on their campus, as well as a large variety from makers all from Maine. The hours have changed so I have suggested the edit they are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 to 5.
Stopped here on the way to Acadia and wow—what a hidden gem! H.O.M.E. Made Gift Shop is unlike any place I’ve visited: part gift store, part craft shop, part thrift store, and part shelter that directly serves the local community. You can feel the heart behind it as soon as you walk in. Every corner has something unique, from handmade crafts to secondhand treasures, and the prices are incredible. I found the most gorgeous hand-crocheted top for my daughter—under $40! Supporting this shop not only means finding special items but also giving back to an amazing cause. Absolutely worth a stop if you’re heading to Bar Harbor, Acadia, or anywhere nearby. For more hidden gems, travel + dining tips: @katieandrewstravel
They have redone this gift shop and made it very nice. The staff is always pleasant and there's a bunch of locally made and Maine made products. Sales here go to a good cause also check out the bargain bar on home campus
Love this little place. The lady working was so kind! My little sister for 7 shirts for $4. Super affordable and I love their purpose/mission.
Love the staff here. And the food. Check out the craft store all handmade here in Maine. Food boxes are available here and the bargin barn is a great second hand place to shop. Also a church here, garage and saw mill and a day care and adult ed. And they offer some craft lessons cheap.
