Love Ms. Julie. She did an amazing job with our daughter. Looking forward to working with her again. It's best when it comes to care for your child, that you select a provider that's best for your child and you. Therefore, please note that my experience was great and I highly recommend this setting for my children. Another parent who is like minded recommend this place to me as she stated that her son had a phenomenal experience there. All the best in your childcare search and journey.

My son has been attending Highlights Academy for two years. He will be entering his last year at the school in September and we could not be more pleased with our experience at Highlights Academy. The educators are caring, supportive and have high expectations of the students. The curriculum is rigorous yet fun. The school prides itself on educating the whole child-socially, emotionally, physically, academically and spiritually. Each morning the students join together in a period of devotion, which I love. As an educator myself, I would recommend this institution without hesitation.

I started my son in PreK during the height of the pandemic and I was so concerned about how he was going to learn much during virtual class for a 4 year old who already lacks concentration for long periods of time. In the beginning it was super frustrating but all his teachers teached as if they've done virtual classes before. They are all super attentive, professional and truly care about the children's progress and well being. The adjustment from online class to in peraon class was also well organized and comforting. I like the fact that the school goes above and beyond their level of academics. I would recommend this school to anyone and I do not regret sending my son here. Special thank you to his teachers Ms. Michelle, Ms. Judith, and Ms. Julie the parent teacher coordinator/dean. Also good job to the online teachers as well during the pandemic. πŸ€—

My two teenagers attended this school when they were younger and there is so many positive things I can say about Highlights Academy. If you want your child to have an education style such as back home in the Caribbean then this is the place to be. Upon entering in the morning, they pray. Im a firm believer of starting the day with prayer! They eat great meals, none of that garbage they feed the kids in public schools. The curriculum will have your child completely reading by the age of 3! I love the way my children were treated and I made a great choice in sending my babies there.....

Overall I underrated Highlights Academy because as an educated and caring mom, I had one to many unpleasant experiences with my son. I know that certain incidents are uncontrollable when it comes to children, however what I do not agree with in this facility is their procedure with bleach cleaning around the children. The director stated "Teachers have to sanitize for the children." I am Type-A, so I completely understand every detail about being sanitary with children, however, as a child care provider you do not and I mean absolutely DO NOT use bleach products to sanitize while children are in the vicinity. My son had bleach all over his pants and initially they attempted to cover it up by saying it was paint. The director is also rude when addressing the parents. She has no customer care personality. Another incident I disliked was when she forcefully attempted my son to go to take a nap early in the morning! As a child care director, you do not force children to go to sleep, especially not at 7am in the morning! Again she makes an excuse about my son being tired! I repeatedly told her to hire an assistant for the morning shift if it was overwhelming to care for the early-bird children who arrive at the facility at 7am. If I did not take a look back to see how aggressively she was treating my son who would've known and fortunately enough I advocate for my son! Child care providers, along with the director make too many excuses, . Administration nor teachers was ever aware of anything that happened prior to the incident or so they claim. Policies only changed anytime an incident occurred with a parent. My son even had a busted lip and teachers could not specifically tell me what occurred prior to the incident, besides another young boy kicking my son in his lips. "Where are educators/ adult to say the least while this act is taking place to prevent an act of this kind from occurring?" Also since it is a family oriented company, they assumed it was okay to be unprofessional. In particular one of my sons' teacher who went as a third party to her relative ( the director) as a result of me sharing a concern for my son. I'm his mother whether or not I seek the teacher who is in the class daily as opposed to the director should not matter. I am glad to say my son does not attend the school. The 2 year-old classes were over crowded. The only positive is an early start on their curriculum to develop children's' cognitive and gross motor skills. However they lacked a tremendous amount of communication between the teacher to director and director to parent and parent to director. Somewhere, somehow translation gets lost and in order to see change one should not have to act out as an adult. Thankfully my son only attended this school for one-year!
