Reviews are mixed. Most reviewers praise the preschool program and teachers highly. However, one detailed negative review raises serious concerns about staff conduct, lack of parent communication, absence of security measures, and a child experiencing panic attacks and reporting being hit.
Beautiful church with a great history that is sadly mostly empty and falling apart. They tend to hire people who are not religious to do the music rather than allow any congregation to do it. The preschool used to be the best in the city, but after major changes and several incidents in which the church refused to respond or meet with parents, install cameras or allow parents keys to the building, I cannot recommend anyone send their kids there. My child starting having panic attacks and insisted they were hit by staff. When I told them they refused to communicate- board and director- and pastor basically told us to stop coming.
What a wonderful spiritual experience to worship at Wesley Memorial A free breakfast is served at 9:00 a.m. We eat at round tables where six or so can eat have a conversation. If you are new you will fit right in. These folks go out of there way to make you feel apart of the group. They have a contemporary service at 10:00 a.m. That is very informal, relaxed, with upbeat band. Come in your jeans, shorts you will fit right in. The traditional service is at 11:30 a.m. The band is replace by pipe organ, some people dress up a little more, but casual clothes are just fine!
The preschool program here is absolutely wonderful. Their teachers are 100% perfectly suited for the classrooms in which they work!
It's a church where everyone knows your name. Excellent sermon!
