My son went here for the past two years and graduated and is now heading to kindergarten, he is on the spectrum of autism and let me tell you this school is phenomenal from the teachers to the therapist to nurse Sheila . Everyone is incredible my son has developed and grew in ways I can’t explain from being very minimal talkative to significantly improving in all aspects. From the teachers to therapist they have all taken their time out to individually teach these kids at their best abilities. I can’t even explain how grateful my son and I both are for this school. They are overall just incredible very communicative and wonderful to first time parents sending their kids off to school, especially with special needs. You will see incredible growth in your child within two months of attending this school . They’re very hands on kind and just once again incredible I can’t thank them enough for all the services my son received. Thank you
My 3 y/o completed early intervention and started here for CPSE. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and non-verbal. This school caters to toddlers on the spectrum as well as toddlers with various mental, physical, and health disabilities and/or disorders. I love how well staffed the school is. It is very clean, organized and safe for children who may elope. Having a child with special needs and is also nonverbal, I couldn't just leave him in just any preschool or daycare. This school is absolutely amazing. Every staff member knows each child that is in their building. Every child is everyone's responsibility. They allow you to bring warm food there. Each classroom has a fridge, and microwave and a bathroom with the exception of 1 class. There are washers and dryers on site to wash the blankets and sheets every week. As well as our babies clothes if they have an accident. They have Occupational therapist, Physical therapist, and Speech therapist as well as a licensed Social worker and a RN on the premises. I highly recommend this school for toddlers graduating from Early Intervention. My son is making so much progress. He is now saying more than 7 words and his ABC's. His teacher Ms. Jasmine is truly a gem. In a K-3 Program, I believe my son would've fallen through the cracks. I am so happy and pleased with this school.
I got a little mini tour of the school and I must tell you. I have never been to a school that is so clean.. And the staff is so friendly and nice. I'm pleased to say that after the tour I decided to send my daughter to Helen Keller. I never regret this decision, excellent staff very professional yet friendly. My daughter loves school so much and I have them to thank for that. They're doing an amazing job with her.
I have been a client with this shembe for over 30 years. They are great with low vision and job training programs for the sight impaired. They also have an excellent school for children with disabilities.
I love everything about Helen Keller, their staff and the services that they provide are very beneficial and helpful. This is always a safe place for me to go to where I always feel included, validated and am in a position to feel more confident and build skills towards social and financial independence and success.
