What Parents Say
Harvest Time Academy has highly polarized reviews. Long-term families report positive experiences with attentive staff and safety protocols, while recent reviews raise serious concerns about child injuries (burns and bruises), inadequate supervision, poor hygiene, and unresponsive management.
If you want your kid to get beaten than this is the perfect daycare for you. Child attended and had bruises when picked up. Never got a phone call or any notification. Workers are not qualified to do the job. Classrooms have way too many kids and not enough teachers. Kids can roam around free and enter classrooms with infants. It’s unsafe. Only gave 1 star so I could give my review. Don’t be cheap your kids are precious.
My son has been going here since he was six months. I recently had to pull him out of this daycare. On April 19 I picked up my son from this daycae, and there was a burn on his left arm. I rushed him to the doctor to have his arm examined and to discover it was a 2nd degree burned and 3 inches deep. The next day, I went to speak with the owner and all he could tell me "He doesn't know how it happened." I asked to see the video footage of the day before, and he informed me "Only his daughter knows how to operate the cameras" When she arrived she had the worst attitude and wasn't helpful at all with trying to find out what happened to my child. I haven't heard a word from this daycare since the incident occurred. It is going on a month, and I still haven't gotten any answers as to what happened to my child. The owners of this daycare are horrible, and they do a lot of under the table activity. Please be careful when you are enrolling your child in this daycare.
The fact is a child was burned at this daycare. Also, cameras can be moved and footage can be deleted. Doesn't change the fact a child was burned at the daycare. This one of the most common situations with daycare's today. The fact that child's mother took her son to two different doctors to make sure she didn't make "false accusation" blows me. Also, reading the review from K.Brown and reading other DSS reports sounds like DSS needs to look into this matter a little more. Also, why didn't anyone from the daycare called to check on the child? What did the owners tell the investigators for them not dig deeper into this case? So many questions here. Thank God for reviews b/c this helped out with my decision on rather or not my child will be attending this daycare.
I have a total of four children who all have attended/attend HTA. My eldest child will be 18 this year and he attended from the age of six weeks until 12 years old. There has only been one incident that occurred during a field trip that required medical attention of which was a accidental fall that required stitches. This could’ve happened to anyone. The staff was very attentive, professional and promptly notified me and sought medical attention for my son as soon as the incident occurred. I received a follow up call a few days after from the owners expressing their concerns regarding his condition. This is a 12 year duration of attendance, only 1 incident . All of my children have attended HTA with no issues or concerns whatsoever. I currently have two younger children that attend HTA and I have never considered any other daycare for them.
Harvest Time Academy has never had a child burned since opening. We have working cameras in every classroom. Parent stated child was burned while in Harvest Time Academy care which is a false accusation. Parent called the goose creek police department who came and watched over 72 hours of video footage from the alleged incident and there was no evidence of a child being burned. Investigators have since dropped the case. The day of the incident we also offered to let the parent watch the video footage several times of which she declined to. We were fully cooperative with investigators because we have nothing to hide. The case was also reported to DSS who also came to investigate the case. Once DSS saw that there was no evidence they also dropped the case on their end.
