What Parents Say
Harmony School receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, who praise the caring staff, welcoming environment, and strong academic and social development outcomes for children. However, one parent reported a significant communication breakdown regarding their child's adjustment issues, citing lack of transparency and an impersonal dismissal via email without prior discussion.
Harmony is a great school with kind, caring teachers, responsive and helpful administration and a fun, welcoming environment. The staff at Harmony helped make the transition to a new city much easier for my daughter and I can’t recommend them enough. We really enjoyed the field trips, fun weekly themes and water days during the summer.
Harmony is a wonderful place. My daughter was having a very difficult time in a traditional classroom setting, and she cried every day that she was the dumbest kid in her class. Once she got into Harmony, her confidence grew in leaps and bounds, and they were able to meet her where she was and grow personally and academically. When my son was preschool aged was student there, and I couldn't have asked for more for him either!
We are unfortunately having to relocate, but Harmony has been so important for the growth/development of Leo. We've watched him go from socially mute in public to being a complete chatterbox, as well as learning SO SO much in his time with you all in terms of social skills, counting, shapes, letters and letter sounds, tracing, writing his name, the list goes on. Miss Bonnie and Miss Angie were phenomenal teachers and Leo never stopped talking about them. I want to recommend this school to everyone I can and I can only hope to find a school that matches the level you all are at.
Everything was good at first. My son started in October 2024 and was having some issues adapting. I kept in tabs with the teacher about his behavior and how he was adjusting. She was telling that it was taking him longer but they are working with him. Every time my mom or I saw them we would ask about him and how he was adapting. The last time SHE SPOKE about his behavior difficulties (which weren’t even difficulties he just didn’t want to participate in circle time and would run away) was in December/January. My mom and i would constantly ask EVERY TIME we saw them and every time we were told he was doing really well and adjusting really well. I suddenly out of the blue received an email to my work email from the director stating that it’s not working out and i have 30 days to find alternative childcare for my child. THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL ME!!!!!! I was out for surgery so did not even see it right away. I am upset because if he was continuously having “adjustment issues” then why was that not discussed way in advance when we’re constantly asking about him. The director said she spoke to the teacher and the “miscommunication” was the teacher was speaking about him academically when i would ask how he was doing. There was no miscommunication, she knew i meant academically and behavior wise! Be mindful about this place because this is not how this should have been handled. They didn’t even seem to have any empathy or even have a sit down to talk to me about this. Then had the nerve to say we would love him back when he’s ready, i will never send him back due to the simple fact that this was done unprofessionally and without any proper conference or communication
My daughter is doing great and is excited about going to school every day. I really like to sense of community within the school and that a lot of parents are involved as well.
