What Parents Say
HEAF is a youth and academic development program (not a traditional daycare) that receives strong praise from alumni for its transformative impact on students' academic and social development. Former participants credit the organization with helping them develop life skills, maintain grades, gain college acceptance including to Ivy League schools, and secure scholarships. The program offers diverse electives and employs passionate, expert teachers.
I was a HEAF kid in middle school and early high school, and to this day I give them hefty credit for the development of my social skills. I was a participant in the early 2010s and the teachers were kind and invested, and being around other kids who were considered 'smart kids' made me feel really at home. I had good friends and went on exciting trips, all the while building life skills like research and literary analysis and visiting colleges that I was excited to go to one day! HEAF was a big part of my childhood and changed me for the better.
I'm an alumnus of this organization, which is a youth and academic development program for students in NYC. To say that this organization changed my life is an understatement. From helping me keep my grades up in high school, to helping me apply and be accepted into Ivy League colleges, to helping me secure scholarships in order to graduate debt-free, this organization does it all. Best support system for families in NYC!
HEAF is an amazing program for inner-city youth. The organization employs passionate teachers who are experts in their fields to teach these students. The Saturday Academy electives are diverse, so all students can find their interest, whether it be fencing or fashion design!
It's fun to go to HEAF but it's also boring sometimes
