What Parents Say

am disappointed with how the emergency fund process is handled for current students. I applied for assistance due to an ongoing financial hardship that directly affects my stability while enrolled. My request was denied on the basis that the situation was not considered “unexpected,” despite the fact that the financial burden remains unresolved. The presence of a minimal $10 monthly payment arrangement was treated as though it eliminated hardship, which it does not. What was most concerning was the response that followed. Rather than addressing the request within the scope of institutional student support, I was redirected to external public assistance programs such as LIHEAP, utility grants, and 211. While those resources may be helpful in general, referring enrolled students to outside government programs does not align with the stated purpose of an emergency fund intended to support student retention and academic success. This experience highlighted a lack of transparency in how emergency eligibility is defined and applied. I encourage the institution to reconsider how it evaluates financial hardship and to provide clearer, more compassionate support for students navigating real-life challenges while pursuing their education.
Great school a lot of helpful support enjoyed my time there. Great location it's close to the train station. Harcum College does a lot for working adults and make it possible for them to get a college degree. If it wasn't for their program I wouldn't have a college degree. They created a program it was called I-lead in 2009. I am grateful to Harcum College for such a program and making it possible and easier for adults to get a college degree. Thank you Harcum College see you at homecoming weekend this year.
harcum dental school which has a clinic for anyone to get teeth examined and cleaned at a fee is painstakeingly tedious and you may have to visit 4 times to complete a checkup and cleanong it can and may take 4 months to accomplish. The students are very sweet but some of the dental teachers/supervisors are not available most of the time to sign off on a student;s progress so that they can go to the next step. I had to give up on these people because one cleaning took almost 5 months and the process starts again just about for 2 cleanings a year. If you have nothing better to do then go for it otherwise be prepared to travel back and forth there at least 3-4 times for one cleaning which in the long run will cost you more with gas prices time and much hassle.
Great atmosphere!! Quiet campus and hands on staff. Everyone was so eager to assist us and make sure we felt connected with the school, the programs and the professors that head that department
If I would have known the headache this college would have been 🙄 I would've NEVER STEPPED FOOT IN IT! They have share sites that they honestly could careless about. We were not given the same treatment nor opportunities that the main campus students were given 🗣 even though our tuition was just as HIGH if not HIGHER! They constantly had events and trips which most share site students couldn't attend because we WORKED during the day! Nobody ever knows anything nor answer phones. When calling the main campus 🗣YOU GET THE RUN AROUND 24/7!!!!!! They also pull slick stuff like telling pheaa that you're part time, even though 2 CLASSES A WEEK FOR THE ADULT PROGRAM IS CONSIDERED FULL-TIME. I had to come out of pocket $600 2 weeks before one of my classes was over in order to enroll for the next semester. I called pheaa to inquire about it and they explained it was an simple fix! All harcum had to do was call and tell them that I was actually enrolled in 2 classes which was considered FULL-TIME! Did they do it? OF COURSE NOT! The only reason I stuck with it was because of the staff at the E3 site! Mrs.Erinn, Olga and Selena were amazing, understanding and helpful my whole duration at this place. I would never recommend anybody to this college. Another thing I'm really trying to figure out exactly where the heck they find some of these instructors at 🤦♀️? I mean if I wanted to read the books and not learn anything I could've done it myself! I questioned why some of these classes were almost 5,000 a piece and learned absolutely NOTHING ! Some of the people they hired (Can't call them professors because I didn't learn a damn thing ) had ABSOLUTELY NO KNOWLEDGE ON WHAT THEY WERE TEACHING! I asked one teacher a question and her response was "IDK, they just gave me the material the night before this class was to start and asked me to teach it 🤦♀️". Like miss give me back my 5,000 for this class! How the heck you tell a student that? Like atleast try to figure it out 🙍♀️.
