My son has been attending Happy Kids Academy since he turned one in 2015 and my husband and I are happy about the choice we made to place him here. The teachers are great and you can tell they care about the children. The owner/administrator has been such a joy to know and has always helped me out with any issues I've had. She works hard to protect the kids and make sure the daycare is running as smoothly as possible. I decided to keep my son there even after the two incidents because I feel like they were very isolated and is not the fault of the great people who work there. The owner has made the proper steps to increase security and make upgrades to policies and procedures to try to avoid further incidents. I recommend Happy Kids Academy and wish the administration the best of luck!
My son has been at this day care for almost a year. The past month has been rough, with an attempted kidnapping and now an assault. However, the administration has handled everything swiftly and decisively. I could not ask for more caring and protective people to care for my son. What happened this week was an isolated incident. There had never been any complaints or concerns about her, because before she put herself in harms way to protect her charges, everyone could tell how much she loved those kids. Happy kids not only fired her on the spot, but they then reported her to the police and protective services. There was no attempt to hide what she did, and they were told by Delaware State Police to not say anything until the investigation was concluded. It is not the fault of Happy Kids that the media jumped the gun. They are now the most secure day care in Delaware, and they will continue to offer great child care, hopefully for a long time.
My daughter has been attending happy kids academy since she was 18 months she is now 3yrs old and still attending. The staff is excellent as well as they do everything in their power to make sure the kids are safe. Despite recent incidents the administration handled the situation very well. My daughter loves Happy Kids academy and so do I and the daycare is currently 5 star in the Delaware's Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) administered by the Delaware Department of Education
I absolutely love my job and I have been in many childcare facilities. The owner really loves the kids and she treats me wonderfully. I also have very awesome coworkers. The kids get fed very generous meals as well. Toys are plentiful and the curriculum is hands on. I teach the 3's and love each one of them so much.
My son has attending this daycare for years and I never had one issue!!! The teachers are friendly and give excellent care to the children. I still give them 5 stars
