What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Hands Daycare for its nurturing, family-like environment with caring and dedicated staff. Children show strong academic, social, and behavioral development through themed curricula, creative activities, and individualized attention. The facility is noted for cleanliness, nutritious Korean meals, outdoor exploration, and Christian values integration.
Hands Daycare has truly been a wonderful place for our family. My son is a very sensitive child, and when he first started at Hands Daycare, he had a hard time adjusting. The teachers held him, comforted him, and cared for him with so much patience and love. From the beginning, we truly felt he was in good hands. Since attending Hands Daycare, my son has grown in so many positive ways. All of this progress is truly thanks to the teachers. Even though the facility is older, they keep everything clean and organized. They offer new activities every day, every week, and every month with consistent learning exposure, outdoor play, and a well-balanced curriculum that any parent would hope for. My son is also a picky eater, but he started trying foods at daycare that he never eats at home. The Korean-style lunches (rice, soup, and side dishes) are nutritious, delicious, and so much better than typical American daycare meals. Every teacher knows my son’s name and greets him with genuine warmth. Their communication with parents is excellent. Whenever there were concerns, they offered thoughtful advice, and because of that teamwork, my son’s behavior and development improved so much. The family-like atmosphere and the love from the teachers are something we will always remember. I can truly feel how much love my son receives every day, and I hope he grows up to be someone who can share that same kindness with others. If you are choosing a daycare, I highly recommend Hands Daycare. They communicate well, truly care, and provide a nurturing environment that has made a huge difference for our son.
Hands Daycare has been an incredible blessing for our family. After switching through several daycares and being extremely picky, I can confidently say this is the place I wish I had found from the very beginning. Over the past four years, I’ve entrusted my children here, and I’ve been impressed year after year by the level of care, dedication, and genuine love the teachers provide. The owner herself is a teacher with over 15 years of experience, and her enthusiasm, warmth, and contagious smile set the tone for the entire daycare. This is more than just a childcare facility—it is a true community where children are nurtured not only academically but also in their manners, social skills, and character. What sets Hands apart is the consistency and thoughtfulness in everything they do. My children have learned how to play kindly with others, respond politely to adults, and develop the kinds of social habits that many struggle to instill at home. The staff goes above and beyond with creative events, costumes, and activities that make learning fun, while also teaching invaluable life lessons. I know they work tirelessly—even on weekends—to prepare, clean, and manage everything so their full attention is on the kids during the week. The daily photos, videos, and individualized updates are a constant reminder of the love and care poured into each child. Yes, tuition has increased over time, but the education, character development, and sense of community my children have gained here are worth far more. HANDS Daycare isn’t just a daycare—it’s a second family helping raise our kids into thoughtful, kind, and confident individuals.
Both of our children have attended Hands since they were 13 and 14 months old. Our first is now three, and the younger is now two years old. I don't want to leave a review with too many cliché quotes, but I will say, "sending both of our children to Hands was one of the best decisions my husband and I made as parents." The principal, the administrators, and the teachers all enjoy what they do. They are always smiling! Sometimes you can tell that they are tired, but they are still smiling for the kids and the parents! They are also great at their jobs. The weekly themed curricula are taught through arts and crafts, book reading, worksheets (older classes), etc. The learning seems to feel very easy and fun for both of our kids. I see how animated and fun the teachers are through the short video clips we receive at the end of the day or at the end of the week. Throughout the years, we've had some difficult issues with both of our kids at home. When we consulted with the principal and the teachers, they worked with us to guide our kids towards correcting the issues and provided us with tools and recommendations to implement at home as well. All the while, the process was gentle and loving for the children. It's difficult to express and write down all the situations that made us, as parents, feel like we were also being taken care of. The empathy and compassion that the principal (and really everyone there) has for the families are genuine, to say the least. One thing I always repeatedly say to everyone when I talk about Hands is how amazed I am to see both of our sons come back home SO CLEAN! They eat saucy food, do arts and crafts with paint, play outside, and they still come back so clean! This is going back to when they were like a year old. I used to change their clothing after every meal, even with using bibs. I told my husband that this is how I can tell that the teachers are very attentive with the kids. It sounds ridiculous, but IYKYK. Two more things I will mention are how much we appreciate their outdoor playground. All year long, when the temperature is appropriate outside, the kids get to go out, feel the sun, play at the playground, and explore the woods surrounding the property (under supervision, of course). They also get to pick vegetables that were planted during the year. I love knowing that our kids are smelling grass, the trees, and feeling mulch and dirt in their hands. I have pictures of our son showing off leaves he picked up, pretending to wear acorn hats, chasing butterflies, and examining a random beetle he found. That's childhood. Lastly, I've asked both of our sons on separate occasions who their favorite friend at daycare is, and both of their answers were "my teacher." It made me think back to my daycare teacher, who made me want to become a teacher because she was so great... My husband and I are very thankful to Hands for providing our children with great childhood experiences, even while being away from us.
We have been sending both our kids to Hands Day Care in Centreville since they each turned one. Our son is now four and our daughter is two, and we could not be happier with our experience. The teachers are truly wonderful, caring, patient, and very detail oriented. They always plan so many creative activities and events throughout the year that keep the kids excited and engaged. We also really appreciate how they share photos and videos during the week. It is so heartwarming to see what our children are doing throughout the day. One of our favorite things about Hands is the outdoor area. There is a playground and even a little trail with trees and grass that makes it look like the kids are walking through a tiny forest. We love seeing those photos from the teachers. Teachers are also very organized. Our kids have rarely lost anything here, which says a lot about how well the teachers pay attention to every detail. And honestly, as parents, we know working with little ones can be tough, but we have never seen any signs of stress or frustration from the teachers. They always greet us with smiles and kindness. A small but sweet thing we love is that some teachers are amazingly talented at tying and braiding hair. Our daughter sometimes comes home with the most beautiful braids that look like art. We are so grateful to have found such a loving and professional daycare for our children. We highly recommend Hands Day Care to any family looking for a warm, caring, and enriching environment for their little ones.
Our family’s been with Hands Daycare for years and it’s been such a wonderful experience for my kids. The Hands staff are very loving to children in their care, provide nutritious catered Korean lunches, and constantly strive to nurture children on a personal level. My kids love going to school and frequently talk about how much they like their teachers. Highly recommend!
