What Parents Say
Hand in Hand-35th Avenue has received mostly positive reviews praising staff quality, curriculum, family engagement activities, and child development. However, two negative reviews raise serious concerns about staff management practices, child supervision, and safety protocols.
I have two kids that have been with Hand in Hand since February 2016. One of my children is now attending his first year of summer camp at the Linn Grove location and my youngest is still at the 35th Avenue location. The staff at the 35th location are wonderful. Miss Abby and Miss Molly are amazing. Abby is the on site supervisor that has been there since my kiddos started. She is always so cheerful and welcoming and both of my kids love her. There are still some of the same teachers there from when my kiddos started three years ago. They have been very supportive and helped me find resources when we were experiencing some challenging behaviors from our oldest. The center supervisor, owner, and co-director also attended a meeting with me to advocate for more support for my child throughout that time. The company as a whole, puts a lot of emphasis on family engagement and relationships with the families with many family involved activities including holiday and Spring programs, donuts with dad, muffins with mom, family feast (preschool) etc. There are also many fun activities for the kiddos that go above and beyond what I could’ve expected from a daycare. My kids make homemade applesauce in class, have Halloween parades, Thanksgiving feasts, book exchanges, friendship parties, graduation luncheon and so much more. Overall, I cannot imagine trusting my kids with anyone else. From daycare to preschool, I have been nothing short of impressed. They have high expectations for their employees and classrooms and it shows!
Our 1 1/2 year old son and 5 year old daughter both attend Hand in Hand. In the past 1 1/2 years we have had 3 different daycares (2 in home and now Hand in Hand) and we were constantly finding back up daycare for our kids when they were at the in home daycares. We couldn’t be happier with our switch to Hand in Hand! Our son is at the Tower Lane location and we LOVE the staff there. They truly love every single child and wants the best for them! Our daughter attends the school age summer camp and even with COVID, she’s had a wonderful summer meeting new friends and loves the staff. She has anxiety at times, and everyone at that location has done a WONDERFUL job of keeping her calm and comfortable. Once school starts she will do their before and after school program! I would HIGHLY recommend checking out Hand in Hand for your children 💕
I have never been more impressed with a daycare/preschool. The preschool teachers are so knowledgeable, kind, and their lesson plans are beyond anything I would have ever expected. The daycare classrooms are well kept, the teachers are so nice, and again their curriculum is amazing even in the regular daycare classrooms. Taking my child here was the absolute best decision I have made for him, he is so much smarter and has such a good attitude and I know it's because of Hand in Hand. I have so many good things to say about Hand in Hand on 35th. Highly recommend this center!
I have been sending my kid here for almost 2 years now. The staff has been nothing but amazing to my child and my family needs. If I have questions they are very quick to answer them. We have never had one problem with this daycare. I would highly recommended them to anyone who wants a center atmosphere, but smaller classes.
They will buy off other daycares but then screw over the staff, and kids. They pick and choose. We recently found out they purchased the building where my son goes to daycare and they are not willing to enroll the kids that are currently going to that building they also won’t be taking any of the staff leaving them to have to look for new jobs. They don’t care about kids they care about money and only money. I hope hand in hand gets screwed over 10 x worse than they screwed over all of us. Just this minimal experience is enough for me to never choose them.
