What Parents Say
Halsey Schools receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most parents praising the caring teachers, nurturing environment, and strong educational preparation for elementary school. However, two negative reviews raise serious concerns about teacher conduct, including physical aggression toward a child and poor administrative responsiveness. The facility offers extended hours (6:30am-6:30pm) and diverse learning activities.
We’re sad to be moving to another city because we will truly miss the wonderful teachers in the infant room. They’ve been so kind and sweet, and our baby absolutely loves them. She’s had such a happy and loving experience under their care. We’re incredibly grateful for the warmth, patience, and attention they’ve given her every day. Thank you for creating such a safe and nurturing environment — we’re so glad we chose this place.
Update as of 8/9/2024: My daughter graduated Halsey School. ❤️ Definitely a bittersweet moment. Many thanks to Halsey for preparing her for elementary school. Looks like this is goodbye… Of course, Ms. Jenni was kind enough to say, “Visit us anytime!” Update as of 12/19/2023: Halsey Preschool continues to do a wonderful job. Another of my children attends, first a few days a week, and now moving her to full-time has helped so much. Lots of great activities and I appreciate the team there, always kind and welcoming. I’m glad that not one, but two of my children are being cared for at Halsey and prepared appropriately for elementary school. Initial Review: Halsey Schools is a wonderful preschool. They have always had open lines of communication and have provided great educational preparation for my son. He will graduate to elementary school in June, but I plan on having my daughter attend as well in the coming years. Many thanks to Halsey for always being great listeners and for caring for my son in creative ways. Also, should mention the homework they send home is simple, but thoughtful. Thanks again Halsey!
Halsey's Schools is a great place; the teachers are so loving and nurturing. My favorite things about it are all the activities my daughter is exposed to like: science, cooking, all kinds of art projects, their day is filled with learning and exploring. The administration is well organized, available, responsive and supportive when any question has come up. It's been a great place for my daughter to shine and to blossom. Another great thing is they are open 6:30-6:30, which is unique, and has been a blessing a time or two when we were stuck in traffic, or had to get to work early for something. The other fun things they do are celebrate reading, have silly days like wear every color Of the rainbow, they celebrate holidays and always invite the parents to visit anytime of day. Last great thing is the teachers have a staff development monthly on a different topic related to child development. It's been an amazing experience for our family and we hope it is for yours too.
I had a negtive experience with this school. I have witnessed things that even now two years later, it still eat me alive that I decided to trust this school with my son. One time, as I walked into the school, I saw the tracher uses her foot to push my son to get him to go inside. My son used to come home very depressed and does not talk to us. We did not know what was going on. It took us a while to realize that something was going on at the school. My son did not learn anything during his 6 months there. Not mentioning the number of times, when he came home with bruisings on his skin, and we were told he fell. One time I asked why did he fall, where were you? The teacher replied “ he brought it to himself”. Everytime I talked to the director, I got no real answers. So my advice, choose another school.
I started Halsey Schools when I was a baby in 2000 and I graduated from the Busy Bee class in 2005. I loved it there. I looked forward to going everyday and missed it on the weekends. The teachers were all so nice and I still visit them even though I'm in middle school now. I think Halsey is great and that your kids will love it as much as I did. I learned a lot there and I think I owe my success in elementary and middle school to Halsey. I really love to learn. I take all honors classes. I'm a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I even received an award and letter from President Obama for my academic achievement. I also won the president's fitness challenge. Someday I'll send my kids to Halsey.
