What Parents Say
Guilford Center for Children receives predominantly positive reviews praising the committed staff, nurturing environment, and quality curriculum. However, one negative review describes inadequate support for a child experiencing emotional trauma following loss. Most parents report high satisfaction with academics, social-emotional growth, and healthy meal options.
This is a special place. My children have collectively been in many types of learning environments, but I have never experienced a school with committed, loving, and nurturing teachers and staff from top to bottom. My daughter has not once had a bad day I. Three years going to this magical place. If you can bring your child here, then do it.
One of the BEST Early Education Centers in CT!! They provide the children with an amazing environment to learn and grow. I can confidently say that my daughter's academic, emotional, and social capacities noticeably continue to improve since she has been a part of this amazing program.
My son attends Guilford Center for Children (GCC) and we couldn't be happier. They provide healthy, organic breakfast, lunch and snacks daily, as well as a curriculum that is paramount in the area. The teachers and program director, Lisa, are phenomenal and really do care about how each child is learning, growing, and developing. We LOVE GCC!
There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful GCC is. The facility is bright and inviting and there are highly educated, loving teachers. Healthy, delicious meals and snacks are provided and the curriculum is filled with developmentally appropriate practice and fun! There are daily specials like Spanish, music, soccer and Zumba and the children and staff are very involved in the community. GCC is a school where all are loved and cared for!
This school is the most disheartening school. After my grandson lost his mother, their first year teacher could not handle his emotional stress. Most importantly, the school Director was unsupportive, disengaged and rude. This young child lost his mother and the Director was the least supportive individual at the school. In fact, the Director and the teacher as well as the president of the board never even responded to the situation. This is not a nurturing school and the Director is not the right fit for Guilford and the great town that we all inspire it to be.
