Guiding Steps Montessori has been absolutely wonderful, especially the baby class! The teachers are patient, caring, and incredibly attentive to every little detail. You can tell they truly love what they do. My baby has grown so much in confidence and curiosity since joining—every day I’m amazed at the new skills and experiences they come home with. The classroom is calm, clean, and thoughtfully designed to support independence even at such a young age. I feel completely at ease knowing my child is in such a nurturing and engaging environment. I’m truly grateful for the team at Guiding Steps Montessori. Highly recommend!
We LOVE Guiding Steps Montessori School! Our older daughter attended for three years and our younger daughter for two, until we moved out of the area. Both of our girls were always extremely well cared for, and Mrs. Srini and Mr. Lali hold a very high standard for their teachers and the children in their care. The entire staff loved my children like their own, and I knew they were getting not only an amazing academic education, but also developing socially and emotionally. The facility is clean and safe, the teachers are highly trained and wonderful with the kids, and communication is excellent. I highly recommend Guiding Steps Montessori!!
As a first-time mom, I did a lot of research before choosing a daycare, and I really appreciated being able to secure a spot for my son months in advance. The staff were friendly during the tour and very responsive to emails leading up to his birth, which gave me confidence in my decision. However, once my baby actually started attending, my experience changed. There was a noticeable language barrier between myself and his primary teacher, which made it extremely difficult to ask questions about his day or understand how he was doing. I also reached out to the Director, Lali, twice via email to ask what activities the infants do when they’re awake, and I never received a response over the next two weeks. Communication overall dropped off significantly after tuition was paid, which was disappointing. We were only attendees for three weeks (he was 8 weeks at the start). While I do believe his basic needs were met — he was fed, changed, and generally cared for — the lack of communication and transparency made me very uncomfortable. On his last two days, one of the teachers, Ms. Maday, kissed him on the head as she handed him back to me. He’s only 11 weeks old, and even family members follow a strict no-kissing rule, especially during RSV season. I don’t think a daycare should be kissing babies. Overall, I’d describe our experience as okay but not great. The teachers seem kind, but communication — both in person and via email — needs serious improvement. As a parent, being able to discuss my child’s needs and receive updates is essential, and unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case here.
I really cannot recommend Guiding Steps Montessori enough. Our daughter has been attending since she was 6 months old and she absolutely loves it. It’s an intimate daycare so each child is known by name by all of the staff, and Mrs. Srini and Mr. Lali are absolutely wonderful. They are so attentive to everything that goes on, and they take the time to speak with parents. I’m able to provide my input and share things I want my daughter to work on, or any areas of concern and they are taken seriously. They also set all of the children up for success, as these kids are toddlers and they are counting, reading, doing math problems, and speaking properly! The hours are also very convenient and they treat everyone with respect. Finding a daycare that I felt safe and comfortable bringing my child to was one of my biggest concerns and I’m so glad we found GSM when we did!
Our child was here for over a year. It is a safe environment where my son was able to learn proper behavior, have fun, and learn handwriting and math. Many of the students here are doing math a year or more above their grade level. When I walk in to the school, the children are well behaved and doing worksheets or activities on mats. They also learn to clean up after themselves which is nice. Expectations for the kids is high and they really learn a lot:). Highly recommend.
