Growing Time Montessori School

I've been a parent at The Modern School house for 2 years. I have been very pleased with the progress my son has made with the school. They really work on encouraging emotional development and tracking educational milestones for each child. The teachers are all kind and treat the children as their own. They also provide daily updates and performance meetings for your child. Definitely consider this school if you live in the area.

Similar to Irfana, I'm experiencing a lot of difficulty getting in touch with The Modern Schoolhouse, having sent multiple email follow-ups with no response.

Our daughter was at this school for about 7 months. We were new to Southern California and were taken in by the clean surroundings, the somewhat inaccessible nature of the school (after asking for info, it took me weeks to hear back and get a tour and then an offer to enroll) and of course the need for a quick decision; we were urged to place a deposit when a spot came up as it would soon be gone. But after some time there, we found it was not a match. We really liked Ms. Vanessa but that was not enough to stay. During our time there, the school began attracting a lot of younger kids (2 and under) and the number of 3s was dwindling. We could see the change in our little one immediately, as she became quiet and somewhat withdrawn. One day I walked in for drop-off and found myself in a room with so many crying babies and toddlers. The change was palpable. We shifted to a new school within 1-2 weeks. I am happy to report our younger one was writing her name within one week at the new school. She's only been there a few months but she has really blossomed under the tutelage of her new teacher who has been teaching in the same classroom for 27 years. I am floored that we found such a gem of a school tucked away in Pasadena. The price was also super reasonable (about $1,500/month) compared to TMS (which charges over 2K/month). Overall my husband and I have come to think of TMS as a daycare, with lots of activities, but lacking the organizational and developmental structure to meet children where they are. This review is not meant to be an attack but constructive feedback for the admin and advice for parents (who never have enough time) looking for a place for their little ones.
