What Parents Say
Greencastle Child Care and Learning Center has deeply polarized reviews. Four parents praise the center's caring leadership under Annette, flexibility, educational activities, and staff dedication, while three parents report poor staff conduct, lack of supervision, undisclosed injuries, and unresolved safety concerns including abuse allegations.
Annette has been wonderful since day 1. We went to explore the center having major concerns from the previous day care and Annette was so reassuring and addressed every single thing that I had asked about. Throughout my children adjusting to the day care they have been super understanding and helped me every morning with drop off. They seem to have great staff that love their jobs as well. The one thing that I absolutely adored from our walk through was that Annette did not miss a beat when we explored the class rooms and she knew every single one of the children’s names. That meant a lot to me and showed me that she loves them as her own. We are happy to be at GLC!
A place that in time when sickness has been crazy gave me peace of mind and understanding when I needed it the most. I have worked in the daycare field for 6 years now. I have found one place in my line of work to be understanding, kind and flexible in ways others haven't. GLC or " Greencastle Learning Center inc " has been the only daycare that has been willing to work with me both from a scheduling and childcare aspect. They worked with me on times that worked for me when . They cared for my child even when I wasn't at work, and when he was sick they gave me the ability to be home with my sick child even when they needed me. Annette Sheeder and most of the staff made me feel like family there. They never made me feel badly when I couldn't be there because I was sick. They never made me feel bad because my child was sick and I couldn't be there either. They been understanding because of it and made me feel like it was ok to be me and mom at the same time. I recommend anyone looking for a job in daycare to check them out and if u need someone to care for your child please give them a chance they will treat your child as there own!
Please Stay Away From This Daycare!!! Do not put your child in this center. The center should be called Greencastle Daycare because there isn't any learning done. Annette makes excuses for her lazy staff and doesn't run her business in a professional manner and she is never there nor does she care about the children in her center. It is all a show and her staff feels the same way I do. This center is a joke to Keystone Stars Program and the town of Greencastle. The lack of leadership and quality care and the reputation of this facility around town is that they have heard awful things about that place. Some of the girls are nice and do what is required but look out for the 3s n 4s room and pre k room. The teachers are lazy, they blame the child for everything and they do not know how to talk or treat children with respect. The easiest thing for them and her to do is to label your child as a behavior problem and force you to leave because Annette doesn't want to handle the real problem which is her staff and the lack of experience and education when it comes to handling children. Stay away from this daycare at all costs please find a in home care or go to another center outside of Greencastle you child will not benefit from anything they tell you during first meeting.
I love GLS and my daughter loves it! When people say it takes a village to raise a child they are not lying and they are my village! My daughter is in the preschool age group age 4 and can not wait to go to daycare! In fact she learned to write her name at GLS not preschool they taught her to read, and due to her being an emotional child handle her tantrums amazingly! When there's even the slightest red mark I get a full accident reportBut most of all I can't thank Annette and Krista enough for helping our family and our daughter transition to head start and a new day care
They provide the worst care possible. Annette makes excuse for her lazy staff and does not operate her business in a professional manner. She is never there when I would drop off my son. He would have marks and bruises that they would not tell me about and then when I brought them up, they would make more excuse. PLEASE stay away from this daycare.
