Great South Bay Ymca

The YMCA has always been a delightful place to be, and it has recently undergone a complete renovation. The new machines are incredibly impressive, making workouts more enjoyable and effective. The friendly staff is always welcoming and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience for all members. The parking facilities are convenient and easily accessible, adding to the overall convenience of the location. The pool is beautifully maintained, providing a perfect spot for relaxation and exercise. Always had childcare, and seasonal summer Camp among other things. I enjoyed working out today

I am extremely disappointed by a recent safety incident at this YMCA bay shore location. The lifeguard on duty did not act professionally and failed to ensure swimmer safety. Her behavior actually increased risk instead of preventing it. A lifeguard should be alert, trained, and ready to respond to swimmers in distress—especially when children are present. Unfortunately, that was not the case during my visit. This raises serious concerns about staff training and supervision. YMCA is supposed to be a safe environment for families. Based on this experience, safety standards were not met. I hope management takes this issue seriously and reviews their lifeguard practices carefully.

We came for our 1 week free trial and the old lady from the reception was not friendly. I was with my kids and she just told us that what are we gonna do inside, without even offering to tour us or give us any info. She is very dismissive so we just left with my family.

Really enjoyed lack of humans there. Locker rooms are really well designed. Other ymca need to learn from this place.(east hampton ymca has midget size lockers that dont lock). Nice equipment, no people, warm water in pool. Yea! 84f vs freezing water in east hampton and patchogue ymca. Cant beat that! State of the art prison style showers(will add picture) make you feel alert and give you sence of adventure. Soap on a roap comes to mind. And best part was i pulled my back while lifting cause looked away, at girl running, lost balance and now i get week off of work! This place is a blast. Definately coming back!

I just gotta share how awesome our experience was working with the Great South Bay YMCA! Magical Memories Entertainment recently brought our Bubbletastic bubble show to their camp, and let me tell ya, it was a blast! Staff were super friendly, and you could tell they were all about making sure the kids had fun. They really went the extra mile to make sure everything went smoothly, which made our job a whole lot easier. So, big shoutout to Great South Bay YMCA and a huge thanks from Magical Memories Entertainment!
