What Parents Say
Great Bridge Child Care receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise the friendly staff, included meals, flexible vacation policies, and extended operating hours. However, some parents report serious safety concerns including inadequate supervision and lack of intervention in bullying incidents.
This is my son's second summer going to their camp, and he loves it! The staff is so kind, friendly, and attentive to the children's needs. Each week they have a theme or fun event that he looks forward to. I love that lunch is included in the tuition so he can try different things and not just get my rotation of 3 bagged lunches.
The only childcare company to offer a tuition free week for vacations after your first year. Also, when public schools are closed for most holidays, they’re open. (Minus Christmas, New Years, Labor Day and Memorial Day) This applies to “snow” days when Chesapeake Public Schools close before the snow even hits. They only close for snow when it’s actually bad. Also, the staff is nice and always supportive.
I enrolled my son here and he only stayed for about a month. I couldn’t believe some of the things I’d walk into when I arrived. The other kids were threatening my son in front of the teacher and she wouldn’t do anything about it. He was afraid to go. Then, the last straw was when I picked up one evening and him and another child were playing Legos and no one was with them. His teacher was across the hall, in another classroom, talking with another teacher. I had to search around to find her. My son was not with in sight and sound of his teacher which is a LICENSING VIOLATION. When I confronted the front office about disenrolling, they seemed to not understand that I was paying them to supervise my child and make sure his needs were met (like safety) and they were clearly not doing that. Terrible experience.
Extremely friendly staff! The only daycare around that you don't have to pay when you take a vacation. I mean why should you pay if your child isn't there. Love it! They keep you informed and are just wonderful!
Picked up my granddaughter today and was told she is a “safety” concern since she won’t take a nap, keep her socks on, and throws a temper tantrum so she is not allowed to return. So basically kicked out of pre-school for refusing to nap with no notice.
