The only good thing about the pool is free swim. I got swimming lessons here because I didint know how to swim, and im pretty good at it now, but the teacher i got was horrible. She was a old lady, and when she instructed me to do a crab walk on the side she told me to keep my feet up on the wall, not down on the wall, okay, but I was already doing that, the reason it looked like they were low is because my feet were slipping. She also kept trying to position me and kept touching my hips and the sides of my stomach to move me around. I have sensory issues, adhd, and autism, and I squirmed away, and she told me to stop. She ended up having a talk with my mom???? For what reason?????????? She also told me to put my hair up. (It was never an issue in the first week and I hate ponytails as they are uncomfortable for me.) Overall, great experience at the pool, bad experience with the teaching.
This is a great place to work out and take exercise classes. It is spacious and well laid out and kept clean and has some great trainers and teachers.
Lack of maintenance and love. The focus here is pool and classes. So much broken equipment. Rust on bars and kettle bells. Leaks in ceilings. I have told staff going on two years now. Closed on Sundays. Outdated equipment. Need new tbar and hack squat. Not worth the money. I have not seen any supervision or cleaning in weight room. I saw a teen jumping up and down on lat pulldown cable. Asked staff to do something. No action. Parking is outright dangerous with soccer nearby. Staff said they can’t do anything about it. Staff is rude and I asked them about these issues and the lady with glasses at desk laughed at me. Can’t recommend.
I love the pool and have been going there since I was a child. The only thing I wish they would do is spray out their shower rooms and around the pool throughout the day. Every time my family goes there, there’s always clumps of hair around the pool, benches, and in the shower area. All they would need to do is just have somebody spray each shower room every once in a while and around the pool to get rid of the clumps of hair that people track into the pool. Other than that, staff is always really friendly and knowledgeable. Their lobby is always kept really clean and the pool is a fun and safe place for my kids to swim during the summer and winter months.
This ymca makes me sad. The ymca is based on CHILDREN and its really more catered to older people. And the arcade/ game room user to be so fun, and now it's just this unused junky room. Bummer for kids.
