What Parents Say
Grandma's Place Rose Quarter receives highly polarized reviews, with most parents praising the caring staff, daily communication, and child development, while a smaller group reports serious concerns including staff turnover, inadequate supervision, food handling errors, and management issues.
Let's be honest... People are way more likely to complain than to give praise where its due. Molly and her team do a great job keeping the kids happy and healthy! Our 2 year old daughter, loves going to daycare and has experienced so much growth at Grandma's Place over the past year and a half. The team sends photo updates every day, they feed them lunch and snacks and are excellent with communication. For us, this was our first experience and we couldn't be happier. As with any daycare during Covid, issues pop up. Kids get sick, ignore the comments on their precautions. I know how hard it can be to keep a business operating under the draconian conditions in Multnomah County and Molly does a superb job at keep Grandma's Place a safe and fun environment. We frequently get artwork from our daughter and every day, we get a note that describes what she ate, what she learned and anything else important that happened. Special shoutout to teacher Edgar and teacher Jonai for taking such great care of our little girl. 10/10.
My son went there for 2 years till he started school. I loved the teachers then. So it was a no brainier that when I had my second one he would go there to and he's been there for nine months and he loves it. Update my newest little goes there and my once 9 month old has been there up until thrusday of last week and I must say the staff are amazing I love grandmas place still 5 star.
I have been a client of Grandma's Place since 2016. We have 2 girls, a 6 year old who attended GPELC from 2016-2019, and now our babygirl who is going on 1 year of care at GPELC. I cannot say enough great things about this daycare. I would advise that you take the "negative" reviews with a hint of caution, daycare is a very big choice for parents and guardians, and we need to weigh all of the information. GPELC has honored my kids and my husband and I in a very diligent, attentive, and compassionate way. My girls always learned, played, got outside and were able to create things at GPELC. Nikki in the baby room at Powell is amazing, and when I was a first time mom I felt so confident when I would leave my baby with her. Now that my 1 year old is at the Rose Quarter, she has been blessed with one of the most amazing care teams I have ever met. She started attending at 7 months old and is now going on 18 months and has been there everyday (M-F) since then. Jonai in the Wobblers room is INCREDIBLE. I cannot say enough great things about her, I am so so grateful to have someone so attentive and caring for my child's teacher. Our daughter has been suffering some pretty intense tummy troubles for a few months now and Jonai has been an advocate and a partner in overseeing her comfort at school and always letting me know how the day progresses and if my baby is in too much pain with the issues she faces. It's easy to send your kids to school more or less, when they don't have any big troubles. But when they do, you really do tend to take a closer look into their care (based on circumstances and personal experience, this is just my opinion). I am grateful to Molly, Becca, Jonai, Edgar, John and all of the care takers at Granma's place. I trust that my kids are safe, even during covid. The security of the school is also very tight which I love. When someone else comes to pickup, they are on. your approved list, and GPELC staff still check ID which I love. There is a passcode which is changed frequently and the school yard is fenced. I appreciate Molly for the way the school is diligently cleaned and maintained. The communication is top notch and you always get notifications well in advance if school is closed, or if there is a sickness showing up at school. Thank you so much to GPELC for taking tremendous care of our girls. -Theresa & Family
My son has been going here for about a year and we are so happy. Just like the other reviewer said, this was the first place I felt comfortable leaving my child. He loves his teachers and so do I! I appreciate the open door policy, flexibility, daily updates and so much more. UPDATE- We've been going here for almost 5 years now. We still love it! The teachers are friendly and open. We will be very sad to be moving on to grade school this fall. :( Love you guys!
These are caring and compassionate people. Relocating to Oregon from across the nation, Grandma's Place has opened their arms and took on my child without hesitation. I get feedback from the teachers on my child's growing interactions, my child communicates emotions more effectively, my child looks forward to seeing newly made friends and supportive staff. We are eager to move onto to Kindergarten knowing that the best foundation has been set. Also saved some money on the 1st three months of care with a coupon posted on the website!
