It is a blessing to be part of such a welcoming and affirming congregation. Ever since my husband and I arrived at Grace UMC we have been graciously received and supported. They proclaim “Grace is for everyone!” And they mean it!
This is a great church. There are services on Sunday at 10:15 am and a new Wednesday night program with a meal at 5:30 and service at 7. A weekly highlight is the free community meal that serves around 140 people every Tuesday from 5-7 pm. Other activities and small groups meet all week long.
I've been intending Grace UMC on and off for the last twenty five years. I always feel welcome. I supported our transition to a reconciling church because I want everyone else to feel as welcome as I do. I am so proud of the good work Grace is doing in our community. From our free clinic and meal every tuesday to the new community free fridge. From the yummy wednesday night meals and chats to meaningful sermons on sundays. Not to mention our award winning preschool! There's honestly too many things happening for me to put here in this review. Grace is truly a community church for everyone♡
Best preschool in Des Moines! The teachers are amazing- so nurturing, kind, and supportive. Also, they utilize project based learning, which caters to the interests of the students with a focus on curiosity, exploration, and creativity. Highly recommend this preschool.
Proud of our Free Medical Clinic and our Free Community Meal on Tuesday, our involvement at CISS, as well as our work with immigration services. We also have a Community refrigerator. We are a Reconciling Church and have a wonderful pastor and his husband.
